Why can't the manufactures get over the 1.3 mega pixel hurdle? Take the the new Samsung for example, it does a world of things but has a 1.3! COME ON! They've had 4 and 5 in Asia for years. What's the hold up? 👿

we are past that hurdle. The Samsung 970 has a 2.0 meg camera and optical zoom. Now that phone is rather expensive, but it is available.

Yeah, I know about the 970. But come on, 2.0! When will we see a 5.0 camara phone. I know that they are out there.

when data rates get better then you should see a big hype in it. Why come out with a 5 mp camera on a cell phone if it will take half an hour to an hour just to send one pic.

I think another prob is cost.

Put a 1.3 megapixel cam in a phone, that don't cost that much, since 1.3 MP is pretty much obsolete in the dedicated digital camera world. But put a 5 megapixel cam in there, and your jacking up the cost of the phone by quite a bunch.

Remember, majority of people are still buyin' cellphones for the PHONE part o' it, an' don't really want to drop $500 on a phone.

Dat said, I agree & am kinda amazed that at the tippy top of the high-end, anyway, we still don' got 5 MP phones yet.
