Ok so I got a Cingular phone from walmart the other day in Florida and love the phone hate that I cannor use my phone in Nevada. I am not in town right now and only have 3 days to cancel. But I am no where near where I got it and I won't be home for another week. I left right after I got it. See this is the thing that makes no sense they told me I had to bring it back to the Walmart I got it from. But the reason I got it at Walmart is because I wanted to be able to deal with someone all over the usa. I travel all the time for my new job and it is mandatory that I have the phone. What should I do. Is there any way to cancel with out bringing the phone back till next week? If not I will have to pay the fee to for activation. I don't know. I fe...

ok from what i read (some parts were a lil confusing) you got 3 Options.
1.) Call Cingular and cancle your service so you do not get an ETF, and then bing the phone back to Wal-Mart when you get the chance. I know most Verizon retailers allow you so much time to bring back their equipment after cancellation, before hitting you with full retail or some other type of ETF. I would imagine Wal_mar is the same.
2.) Start a new account with Verizon Wireless and Port your Cingular Number, this will automatically cancel your contract with Cingular, letting you keep the same number, and thenh take the phone back to Wal_mart.
3.) Do either 1 or 2. and if Wal-Mart will not take the phone back, get on e-bay, and sell the phone for as much...

Well I am not going to use the phone with verizon and I would like to get my money back when I get back in town but I won't be back till the 27th and thats less then 14 days so I should get my money back..but I dont know if they will charge early termination fee? because they dont have the phone..which customer care said I had to bring back...balls..I dont know 😕

Well u can always call the Wal-Mart you bought it at, and simply explain the situation. Beleive it or not, actual PEOPLE still run these places, and most ppl are understanding. Explain the phone does not have coverage in the areas you travel to to work, that you currently are traveling due to work, and that you ARE cancelling your service, but do not wish to be charged an ETF or FULL retail for their phone, that you will galdly give it back, it will just take a lil more time do to your job and distance restraints. If they tell you "oh well sucks to be you" then you will have to take option 3 as I said, and just be glad your not getting charged 2 ETF (one from Cingular and one from Wal-Mart) So good luck.

But I dont understand how walmart can charge me an eft? I only signed a contract. The phone was like54 dollars which I paid cash for? They have no way to charge me one? I mean cingular does the billing right so they could charge me one? I am confused?
...
or does walmart bill me? god i feel so small asking this...i will never get a phone again after I get verizon

ok, to help you understand better, I work for an authorized agent for verizon wireless.
When we sell a phone on a 2 yr contract with Verizon, I have to explain to the customer that there are two possible ETF. One is from Verizon for $175, which can be skipped if you cancel within the 15 day trial period, but if the customer does cancel within the 15 day trial period, they need to bring back the phone, booklets, accessories, and box with UPC code on it (so we know they did not send in a Mail in Rebate etc) or else we charge them a $250 ETF. Reasoning behind this?
Lets say we get some UBER promo sent to us from Verizon and we have to sell Phone XXVXX for $20 with a $20 MIR, thus a free phone. Well full retail Phone XXVXX is $300. We...

I think your research skills need some work. If you had done any homework at all you’d realized cingular and Wal-Mart are two huge mistakes. On the flip side you’ll be very happy when you switch over to verizon. Good luck 🙂

I’m out, thank God. I still wake up in a sweat screaming out one of my 11 general orders. What does that tell you? Seriously though I miss it, and I'm considering going back. I have started my own box business, but yes I'm bored. Semper Fi 🙂

Yeah I got out on a medical Discharge (hearing) but they messed up my DD214 and gave me a RE4B reup code (which states I cannot join the military cause I am not a citizen of the US.....gotta love admin) I also am thinking of re-upping, I only made e-3 while I was in, but right now I need to get all my paperwork fixed LOL. Right now I help run an autrozied agent business for Verizon Wireless, and I am trying to find out exactly whats going on with the whole Wal-Mart thing (no one has made any repplies to my post yet though) Well good luck to you in life Gunny (assume you made e-7 before you got out? LOL)

Just chalk it up as the high cost of low price. 🤣
And let newuser123's grammatically challenged tale be a lesson to you all! Buy from Wal-Mart today to save $30, pay for it down the road when you need ANYTHING.
