You indirects are shaking in your boots.

I think it is rather ironic that many of the indirects, at least the ones here, are all up in arms and worried about Wal-Mart. Well welcome to what we in retail have been putting up with from you indirects for years. You've been undercutting us on phones for years now and we at retail have had to just put up with it. Well know you will feel the pressure along with us. Welcome to the free enterprise system. Don't worry I'm sure the Wal-Mart employees won't be trained anymore than how to scan the phones and take the customers money. We will always be here to clean up the mess for them.

You mean like how all the Mom & Pop stores that used to thrive before Wal-Mart came into town are still around helping people? 🙄

If you honestly think that a nationwide rollout to Wal-Mart won't ruin at least HALF of the indirects currently selling VZW, you're nuts. As for the corporate stores, it won't be long before they're nothing more than service centers staffed with CSR's only. This is what Wal-Mart does to industries. Once VZW sees how much more short-term profit can be had by slashing everything, ...

If you had a hard time selling against indirects due to prices being lower, you're gonna love competing against WalMart.

what about the new every two.. we indirects can't touch that. nothing better than sending your customer to corporate then have the cusotmer come into our store after the sale and complain how they were treated and had to pay $10 for a phone book transfer and weren't shown how to use the phone. Then for the next two years I get to help them with customer service and send them back to corp to upgrade again. Not to mention take the unlimited in package, Vcast package and ringback tones off a 80 year old ladys account that corp puts on....

LOL, you're so right. I don't know how many times I've removed and credited VCAST for people that live hundreds of miles from the nearest EVDO area. Ridiculous.

I've noticed an increase in Direct Agent fraud lately. Sh*t like what you mentioned, sh*t like brining up accounts that are out of contract and doing a 1yr No Promo contract extension (without a PP change, equipment upgrade, or any contact with the customer), setting up add-a-line's as the Primary line (which increases the commission, but FU*KS a bill beyond belief, and which screws t...

I have yet to be screwed by the corporate stores. I got screwed by Radio Shack (and now glad they don't sell Verizon Wireless), then the only indirect that was helpful no longer operates close to home, and on agent cares more about selling a car alarm to me, and the other one sells more discontinued phones than new ones, and has has dollar store quality accessories. Then the ones that sell multiple carriers sell limited selections, so I don't bother. I've had more help from the corporate when I needed it than the indirects that I've come across close to home.

Radio-Shack was a special breed of incompetence. I considered them separate from the other indirects. Since RS bought all their phone...

I went over and checked out their displays. They have a sign that has alot of wording but essentially says, "We are Walmart. We are not the cell phone carrier. If you have any questions or need any help, do not ask us. Ask your carrier."

WOW. That is nice!

I like the way Nextel Partners has it set up. Basically Nextel sets the phone prices. If we buy a phone for 175 from Nextel (actually one of their distributors) and Nextel is offering that phone for free, we get 175 + our commission. Now, our commission is lower then a VZW commission, but 1) we don't have to take a loss if the customer disconnects and 2) the company that takes care of the customer wins out. When Walmart first started selling Nextel my sales went to nothing...

I don't fear walmart, i fear ignorant people no matter where they work, and all channels have some direct and indirect. Their are some crappy agents out there and they are also some idiots working at corp stores. Your outright slam on indirects is just one example of how ignorant some verizon corporate employees are. Many agents take care of their customers, service their phones and other custoemr servcie issues. I can list a million complaints about corp, and a million complaints about other agents but I am not going to do that, just going back to the point that their are stupid people in this world and all comnpanies have at leaste a few. I am also going to say their will probably be a few walmart employees that sell verizon that might act...

I do not you really understand this whole Wal-Mart thing. Yea sure you had to compete with agents for awhile, but guess who started off doing all the sales for Verizon. You make it sound like we came in on you, but I seem to think it is more the other way. One we can't do some of the major customer retention things: NE2, and early upgrades. Instead we help them out then they come over to you guys. Well that will sure be gone soon, no more agents taking care of the setup. Instead you gonna spend a lot more time helping people. Have fun with your quota. In the undercutting we can only do that with low level phones at least in my stores. Your high-end phones come off the same price as ours. You all get all the high paying people we ju...
