Hi all,

I just got a friggen ticket for talking on my phone while driving (90 bucks!!!) and Im looking to buy a new verizon phone with a really good speakerphone (something that can be used in a car). the LG VX4500 I have has a decent speakerphone, but my husband's VX8000 is much louder (they dont sell it anymore).

What do you recommend? I qualify for the new every 2 discount but I dont want to pay more than like 50 - 100 bucks.

Love to hear your thoughts!

I have the LG 8100, and use the speakerphone quite often. In the car I usually clip it to my overhead visor, and that seems to work well both for microphone pickup and for my hearing the speakers.

I recommend either the LG8100 or the Samsung a950. Both will be quite cheap with the NEWE2 credit. The other thing is both have bluetooth (wireless headset). Pick one of those up for like $69 (moto h500). I have the 950 with the black moto h500 headset and love it.

I would not choose the Samsung 950, glad it’s working for you, but many people are having reception problems with it, Samsung internal antenna on that model blows. The RAZR has a very loud and clear speakerphone.

the RAZR has low signal in it. I'd side with the 8100 or preferably, the 815.

I think the e815 has a pretty bad speakerphone, no where near as good as the 8000 or even the audiovox 9900 (which I am currently using)...I would reccommend going to the store and trying the phone in the store and seeing which phones really works best for your needs...DO SOME LEGWORK!!! Its your money and you need to be actively involved in the search.

Unless have a 1MP Camera is really important I would go with a Nokia 6256i from Circuit City (thats the only place you can get em) and get the Moto H500 BT Headset from Walmart (47 bucks) or the Moto H300 from Buy.com (29.99 bucks)... I have both and they have worked very well for me.

Also, the camera in the Nokia is just as good as the 1MP that was in my 815 and LG 9800 (V). The Nokia also has a memory card slot (MMC), video and full bluetooth, and it doesn't have Verizon's UI.

The reception for the Nokia is fantastic. I live in Scottsdale where cell signal is ok...

Had an 8000, went to 8100, went to razr, wife uses the 815. So I have good experience with all of these models. The 8100 has the best speaker phone, however you have to keep the phone open. The 815 is second, it is not to bad at all and you can use it with the phone closed. I am currently using the razr and the speaker phone isn't bad, but not loud enough and not nearly as good as the previous two models i mentioned. If you don't care about the phone having to be open to use speakerphone then go with the 8100, it also has the best camera, the 815 camera is ok and the razr camera blows. 8100 camera isn't as good as the 8000, but it is close and much better than the moto ones.
