Verizon UI
What is the deal with the Verizon UI? I am sure similar message has been posted before. I have recently noticed that all Verizon phones "look" the same with the UI. I am greatly upset at this. People purchase a phone for the functionality and individuality. If I get a Motorola, I want the Motorola UI and if I get a Samsung phone, I want the Samsung UI and so forth. The way it is going Verizon might as well sell one phone instead of having all other brands. And as for people that can't be bothered to learn an UI or find it difficult you are just LAZY šæ . It takes 5 mins to read through a manual and figure out how a phone works. The time you spent gossiping on the phone about who slept with who you could have read the manual.

I'm DONE when my contract is up 21 DAYS. I just can't pay so much for crippled phones anymore and now they're all basically clones anyways. If they were going to make a standard UI they could have at least put some imagination into it and made it graphically appealing. I'm not going to spend cash "upgrading" to a device that has been dumbed down for people who are too lazy to read a manual. I know the average user doesn't care but if you're in a cell phone forum you probably aren't an average user. I'm a tech, i like new and improved and feature rich devices that you can personalize. I can see i'm not going to get that with vzw anywhere in the immediate future so it's asta la vista unless things seriously change. T-mo has better native cover...

If you hate it so much.....why don't you leave the forum now......I couldn't care less if you like or dislike Verizon, Cingular, or even if you are holding some grudge against GTE Wireless from back in the day.
You do, however, seem to spend an awful lot of time on a forum dispensing hatred and loathing. Personally, if I hated something, I wouldn't dedicate hours out of my day to sit on an internet forum and bitch about it. If you are forced to sit in front of a computer and do this, that's one thing......but you just seem like a pissed off customer. Guess what. Every company has them. You just happened to take an unfortunate experience and turn it into the lamest hobby I've ever seen. Congratulations man.

wait until all of the other carriers start to do the same thing with their phones. just a little more time and all carriers will have there own special ui for there phones. be able to tell vzw phones from cingulars from sprints. that way dont hear or read about people asking if they can use a sprint phone on cingular or use a cingular phone on vzw. but it would be nice if vzw made it customizable. but for know vzw is just trying to lock everything down so you have to use there service for anything. but maybe a class action will come up on this. just like for the v710. but this time have about 99.9% of customers included. then maybe vzw will learn.

I really think there should be a lawsuit going. Verizon doesn't allow Sprint phones and Sprint doesn't allow Verizon phones. The whole thing is a monopoly!!! With Cigular and T-Mobile it is a different system. They use GSM instead of CDMA. With GSM phones as long as it is unlocked you can use it with any carrier that is on the GSM network. So, yes, I really think there should be a lawsuit. A phone is just a phone and not a tool for carriers to make themselves stand out. What DOES make a carrier stand out is the service and coverage they offer. Not what phone they have. I like Verizon's coverage. But the phone and UI makes me feel like I am back in stone age. šæ šæ šæ

Verizon has nothing against Sprint phones. Verizon phones are unlocked, technically. Sprint locks their phones and systems to not allow others to use them. It's rather pointless on CDMA tech, though.....The firmware is incompatible. BREW vs. Java, etc. You could switch a CDMA phn to VzW but you would only be able to use the phn to make calls........no games, SMS, MMS, etc.

they scream lawsuit, because they have a good point. Look at the V710 settlement, people complained and the common folk basically won. I actually liked the UI until i switched from a LG 8000 to an e815 and saw the benefits of a customizable UI. I dont care if they want to use the "dashboard" UI as they call, just make it functional for ALL users...this new UI is really only good for idiots and people who like extras like evdo, games, and ringtones. MAKE IT USEFUL TO EVERYBODY and most people would prolly stop bitchin.

Whats this "potential" lawsuit about?? Someone is going to start a class action because they bought a phone with a UI that they don't like? Maybe if VZ said it had the manufacturers UI, and then it didnt. But, if you know thats what it has, you have no reason to seek out a suit.
