Well, im looking to either buy the "V" (Lg Vx9800) or waiting for the Motorola Q that is supposedly pushed back 3 months. All im really looking for in these two phones is the qwerty keyboard. They both have their positives and negatives. What is your opinion in which one I should get? Pretend there is no price, and i can get both right now and they are available. Thanks in advance.

It depends on what your looking for in a phone/device, because these are two totally different pieces of equipment. Besides the Qwerty keyboard, the 9800 is no different than any other phone (besides the abilility to use wireless sync). If that's all you need then it's a good "phone", but if you need a PDA for more organizational things then you would need the Q.

I was looking forward to the "V" until I picked one up. It's a bulky heavy phone, and the keys are way to small to be useful. Haven't played with a "Q" yet.

I originally bought the V and ended up exchanging it for the treo 700w because of how bukly the V was. I really didn't need the functionality of a smartphone. But now that I have one, I will never go back. I love Windows Mobile 5 and I love the things I can do with a smartphone. Plus it doesn't have that boring standardized Verizon UI. I am posting this from my treo right now. I would recommend you get rither the treo 700w or wait for the Q. You won't regret it. The only drawback is the data price.
...
Whats up Shawn, I also have a treo 700 and really do love it it's really nice to have my ph do so much. I agree with SF once you get a smartphone you will never go back
...
i was actually thinking a treo..but honestly i wont need windows mobile 5. Although you prolly right once i have it, i wont want to go back. BUt i dont want to have the urge of going online and having to pay for data usage. So im thinking since i just need a phone and i have played with the V, i might go with that. Only because of texting. Im not online or anything, im just using the keyboard for texting. Im a big texter lol.
...
extremely dumb question, but is the 700w a touch screen? idk y im thinking that tho.
...
Yes, thr Treo is touchscreen as are all PDA's that I have experience with. And, to your previous post, I too had no need for Windows Mobile 5, but, now that I have it, I don't know how I lived without it. AND WM5 is much better than any other smartphone OS in that there are VERY few instances where I actually have to use the stylus (unless I want to use it). Other Verizon smartphones don't have that luxury. I think it is also a part of the modifications palm made to WM5.
I'm telling you, you will not regret getting the treo 700w.
And on top of everything, I love being able to post to phonescoop from my treo.

do you seriously feel its better than the symbian platform? i was leaning toward WM5 but symbian is hot and i have that with cingular. the PALM OS is nice too but, i don't know if i want to carry 2 smartphones, but if WM5 is cool i might give it a try.
what pro's do you feel the wm5 platform has over symbian, and palm?
...
Over palm OS it's a night and day difference. Windows is easier to navigate if you have windows XP experience and with WM5 you rarelu have to break out the stylus thus not needing 2 hands for operation.
I don't have symbian experience so I can't speak to that side of your question.
...
okay so now for my follow up question. Assume i go with the MW5, should i get the treo or wait for the Q?
...
That is a question that can't really be answered as the Q is not out yet and people do not have extensive experience with either.
My guess is you won't go wrong with either. I love my treo.
Just keep one thing in mind when making your decision. Palm did make some modifications to WM5 for the treo making it easier to use. So the treo may just be a little more user friendly than the Q.
