IMO, this forum has been kinda lame lately. How much more can be said about the friggin UI. But two topics of great import to this forum have gotten little attention:

1) AT&T buying Bell South putting Cingy under control of one owner

http://www.ecommercetimes.com/story/hLnu2KAA1Jx82n/A ... »

2) Verizon getting closer to aquiring Vodaphone stake in VZW

Anyone care to comment?

Actually this was the first thread on the topic. Speculatin' on how the cell phone wars will shape up is still more interesting than complaining about the UI or beating some other equally dead horse.

yes, i think verizon would be forced to buy out vodafone's stake worth about $45 billion... that will make verizon own one of the most profitable wireless carrier in the wireless industry...

i think it is essential for verizon to compete with bellsouth and T becuase they dont have a chance if the merger goes through...

Hey guys, I'm new to the industry (about a year in so far) and some of this deeper inside stuff and lately I have been reading these threads like this.

My question is: Will Cingy become at&t at years end or am I reading the news stuff wrong?

I currently work for one of the best employers I have ever worked for (he owns 4 Indirect Agent VZW stores in Maryland). He even pays the health insurance out of his pocket!

All this talk of company mergers and the impending quality changes has got me wondering who will be the best in the coming years?

Just a thought.

i like your handle.. 🙂

well, it is hard to say but according to the web cast and conference call everything will stay cingular, but it could change if they feel that ATT is the better name to use.. obviously if they chose to do that then their marketing fees will go up and other fees such as stationairy paper, cards, store' names etc.. would go up but that is the price of business and mergers.

who will be the best? it is a tough question becuase all of the carriers, cept for lonley tmobile usa ( 😢 ), are doing quite well. they all have the assets and tools to lead in this industry. i think verizon will continue to do well on the postpaid, but struggle on the prepaid and the wholesale business. i think they wont do that well on...
