i think vzw will try to buy out vodafones shares.

as far as buying alltel. i don't think so 1)because altell wouldn't give in, 2) because alltel will hike the price so high it wouldn't be funny, 3) because altell want to buy not sell.

if vzw pushed hard enough they might give in. but alltel strikes me as the merger/ buying type. not the bought out type.

qwest is sprints bi&*h. and sprint needs as much customer count, revenue, and money from qwest as possible. thats a definate NO,NO.

vzw better get amp'd up to par real quick and write a check to vodafone 🤣 . they fear having to do that because they know the 40+ million customers they have will become vodafone customers as soon as voda touches US soil. all american cell carr...

i agree with that verizon should get total control of verizon wireless..

i htink alltel will be a good choice for them becuase it will add their spectrum together and alltel's coverage area where verizon wireless doesnt serve in. there will also probably be no divestitures becuase Alltel is quite small. dont forget, Alltel has landlines in very nice growth areas and verizon could always increase their landline business especially since buying out MCI, and Bls and T mergering it doesnt matter if alltel doesnt want to sell, becuase they are a publicly traded company, so they have to look at every single offer. by the way, i mentioned earlier that i didnt think bell south and T (SBC) would get together but look what happened. for the r...

Didn't VZ buy up Quest's assets like a year or so ago?

I thought that was Leap or Cricket or some baloney. Quest is the one that buys/wins spectrum at auction, realizes they don't know what to do with it and sells it... Then truns around and creates an MVNO using Sprint w/ Quest branding on the phones...

Naah, I'm sure of it now. VZ bought all of Qwest's spectrum and infrastructure. It was almost two years ago. Quick google and I found

I don't think VZ would buy Qwest unless they want their wireline infrastructure. I've also heard Alltel is just fine and peachy with their relationship with VZ. They don't want to sell. And why exactly would VZ want to buy out Alltel? For better coverage in Bucksnort, TX and Shesnotmycousinshesmywife, Arkansas?

yes they did buy some assets from Qwest.

the only problem that qwest is facing is their debt which is probably not allowing other carriers to buy them out.. chapter 11 is in order before any carrier even looks their way. 10 cents on the dollar!!

they have a great backbone that could help verizon to expand. in addition, they have around 14 million access lines which also will add to verizon's. they also have other good busineses that could attract verizon..

but, i think Alltel will be verizon's main focus.

I don't know that VZ landline will make any move at this point. I could be wrong but when you look at the MCI move for VZ land, you'll note that that turned into a segmeting model with a specific purpose.

The BSL/SBC-AT&T seems only to be predicated on worKforce redundancy elimination and single namesake branding of AT&T. Not the worst of reasons but at the expected savings of 2 to 3 bil a year, that 67 billion purchase price will see a long while before the savings will realize any material benefit. In addition to this transaction, this same entity also merged AT&T with SBC at a cost of 16 bil and the Cingular purchase of AT$T Wireless for 41 billion dollars. Giver or take a few billion, that gets these transaction costs to the neighborh...

It's a merger, not a buyout. Yes, AT&T will be taking control of Bellsouth, but that $67 billion isn't cash. Synergies as little as $2 billion per year will be beneficial no matter what.

With the transaction, AT&T will have to pay the stockholder premium to Bell South's stock holders in the amount of $20 bil over the next 2 years.
