Could VZW customer service ratings be in danger?

I hate to say it folks but we may be in for some changes. VZW has just signed a contract with a certain company that handles customer service for clients. This particular call center is going to be in the town where I grew up and I for one am not looking forward to making a call to them.

I'm not trying to be to negative but let's just say that VZW went with this location because they only have to pay $7.00 an hour. On the flip side of that these people think that $7.00 an hour is great money. I also have a feeling that most of the VZW customers calling in will have a hard time understanding them because of their accents, but maybe it will not be as bad as I think. Hey, at least English is their native language.

Who knows I could be ...

I just cant imagine a company like verizon doing anything to jeopardize their outstanding CS reputation. I hope not at least, I'm not going to be concerned until there is something to be concerned with. Interesting info though 🙂

I'm sure they did research and I would think that the call center is ok. I was just thinking that sometimes a company tries to save a dollar on it doesn't work out.

I would have thought that most companies would follow the trend of placing call centers in areas of the country where there is a neutral accent and this place certainly doesn't fit that bill. It took me over ten years to loose mine.

They tried to deliver on Sunday. I'll let you know when I get it and do an ESN change/check it out, etc. Thanks.

It's an overflow call center... hopefully they'll be trained well. There's one here in Seattle too and they're pretty good too... bottoms up

They are adding 100 jobs so I thought that would be a little large to be an overflow. But then again I don't know how many people work at a normal call center.

There are overflow call centers all over the country. I deal with one in Green Bay and one in Corpus Christi, TX. They're pretty well trained, and they give out credits like candy (so customers LOVE when they get one...not that they know). I'm sure this new center won't negatively affect CS ratings (the bottom line is a whole other affair).
