Oklahoma??

Does anyone have any specific information about VZW coming to Oklahoma anytime soon? I'm interested in information regarding OKC, Tulsa, and Lawton? My contract is up with Cingular and I want to move my lines to VZW, but there is no service in these areas yet.

If this isn't happening anytime soon, I may sign up with US Cellular in the meantime - but I'll wait for VZW if it will happen this year.

Don't rush things, didn't you just get electricity in Oklahoma last week? But seriously, just sign up with US Cellular. Its only a matter of time before VZW buys them anyway. "We are Verizon, your technology will be added to our own, from this moment forward you will serve US'!

No, we just got running water last week. Electricity is coming this summer.

I do business in Oklahoma and would like to have VZW service for the state. It's embrassing to me when my customers call me on my Cingular phone and sounds like crap. I guess I'll set up some lines with US Cellular on 1 year contracts and see what happens.

Out of curiosity. Do you have a Cingular GSM phone? if so, do you have a 32K or a 64K SIM card? Tulsa is an important market for us (due to the lack of Vz presence. I find a bit hard to believe that your service is so bad. It kinda sounds to me like you have a TDMA phone.

VZW does not have any cell towers to my knowledge in oklahoma. this is because another company has the legal rights and will not allow vzw to put towers up. so untill something gives vzw will not have towers in oklahoma. therefore you cannot start up service.

yes the amercias choice map allows for users to use their phone in oklahoma without paying for roaming but they will not allow you to start up service if your primary place of calling will be in extended network, it just doesnt make sense cost wise.

I was told between 10-15 towers in Lawton, OK... And I can expect Tulsa and OKC to launch service very soon. Where can this be verified? I can't locate anything on their website.

It shows digital service in and around Lawton, but no stores on the locator - not sure what that is all about.

it sure does.. ill be damned. guess there are some towers in some spots like lawton, oklahoma city is all extended etc. not sure what the deal in lawton is but as far as i know the reason you cant get service in oklahoma most of oklahoma is that vzw cant put towers up due to legal reasons.

were it not for those reasons oklahoma city would be covered with vzw towers thats a pretty big city.
