I wouldnt' say Sprint PCS has a bad network, they just have less coverage. But we'd also be gaining a good chunk of customer base.

Don't shoot the messenger but the rumor is out there. I was curious as to whether or not the FCC would allow such little competition because that would make the big players SprintPCS/VerizonWireless VS ATTwireless/CingularWireless. 😲

That would be crazy.

The rumor is out there that we at Cingular are after T-Mo too, but I have one word for both of those proposals - Monopoly...lol. VZW would have a much easier time in regulatories if they went after Nextel, since they are an independent technology, than they would with the only other national CDMA carrier.

Verizon could afford it, but doesn't want to take on all of Sprints' debt too.

Yea Phonepimp is right. We could adopt Nextell's IDEN technology. Then we'd have a push-to-talk network actually worth talking about. 😁 ..plus since Nextell is Motorolla's network, Motorola might be more willing to create durable phones for us. 🤣

Ruin their network? It would only add tons of capacity - which they need. Why do you thing Verizon bought the Qwest Wireless network last week? It provides additional scectrun in the west that they needed.

Considering Sprint brought the PCS group under the corporate umbrella a merge is impossible. Sprint would need to sell the PCS assets to another carrier. Considering the very strong MVNO relationships they have right now - Qwest, AT&T and Virgin I doubt they are looking to sell off the PCS group any time soon.

Nor is anyone else interested in Sprint's debt. At least I would hope.

FCC won't allow it, FTC won't allow it, DOJ won't allow it. Too much spectrum being controlled by one company.
