Can Someone Please Confirm? VZW Rep, Please Help!!

If this is true, it totally SUCKS!!!!

Anyway....I get new phones a lot because I get bored easily with them. When something new comes out I usually get it. Since I am not due for upgrades I pay full retail. I thought then, that my eligibility date to get a discounted phone would always be the same (every 22 months or now actually every 12 since I am a Merits Member now) regardless of how many times I bought a phone at full retail. Well, I knew it had been awhile since I got a discounted phone so I called CS to see when I would be eligible again (planned on using it for the 870 when it comes out). They told me that my last upgrade was 3-2-06! Well that is when I last purchased a phone, full retail, so I thought they misunderstood...

Unless you accept a discounted price you are still entitle to the discount evry 22months

They have actually recently just changed that. The new terms indicate that you must have the same handset for 24 months. Check it out!
This is per the verizon wireless website to get to click on the plans section then the "New Every Two" link underneath Included Features.

"You must retain the same wireless handset for 24 months in order to receive the full advantages of this program. If you choose to replace your handset at a discounted price, you will forfeit your benefits and be automatically reenrolled if you meet the requirements of the program. If you enrolled in the program on or after 11/25/02, you must take advantage of the New Every Two offer within six months of becoming eligible; otherwise, you may be charged full retail pri...

In the beginning of that, though, it states:

"You must retain the same wireless handset for 24 months in order to receive the full advantages of this program. If you choose to replace your handset at a discounted price, you will forfeit your benefits and be automatically reenrolled if you meet the requirements of the program".

Notice the part about replacing your handset at a discounted price. That's where I'm confused. I haven't replaced at a discounted price, I've always paid FULL RETAIL.

I don't know what that means then. because it's hard for them to give it to you at a discounted price before your 22 months is up.....

Mary I am the same way I have purchased many phones full retail my ne2 was up in Feb. I was told that they go back to the date you received a phone at a discounted price and not from the last headset you activated.

sorry about the confusion mary484. there has been a mistake. I would reccomend calling customer care and notifying them that your new every two date was incorrectly adjusted. chances are when they did the esn change for the upgrade they put in an incorrect upgrade code. they should of used upgrade no discount which does not extend the NE2 or Standard upgrade dates.


your customer care rep will be able to view the order even if you went into a store. they can then see that you paid full retail and get a supe to adjust the NE2 date accordingly.

How much did you pay for the handset, what handset did you puchase on that date? If you did pay full retail then your new every two should still be in full effect.
