Landline Connect Fee

I want to upgrade my phone, but the new plan I have to sign up for has a 97 cent landline connect fee. Does anyone know what that is? In the terms of the contract, it states that you can be charged for calling a landline even if you are in the network. Is this a monthly fee? Do I pay every time I reach a landline?

Also, my mom and fiancee have the LG 3200 which is terrible-I have so many dropped calls and have to repeat myself so much that I hate calling them. Is there anything I can do besides buying them new phones at retail prices? They both signed new contracts about a year ago.

Thanks

About the landline fee...I am unaware of that. I am sure it wouldn't be a per call basis...that would be freaking expensive.

As far as the LG VX3200's...I haven't had too many issues out of that phone. I sold a ton of them. The one thing of important though...make sure they are not touching the antenna or the antenna base while talking. It has a fixed stubby antenna and if you touch it or the the base it will create degraded signal with symptoms such as poor call quality and DROPPED calls. Have them show you how they hold the phone while talking on the phone and see if they are doing this. If so...tell them to stop and odds are you will see the reception issues stop too...
