New Signal Strength Indicator

Beginning today, we will use a new graphic on phones and in advertising that more accurately represents the strength of our network, in contrast to that of competing carriers. The graphic consists of five ascending bars instead of the four bars commonly used in advertising of one of our competitors.

“Our new signal strength indicator more accurately illustrates the performance of our network compared to lesser four bar competitors,” said Dick Lynch, chief technology officer. “My goal is to raise it to a six bar display in 2007.”

When customers are in EV-DO coverage, electronic pyrotechnics will shoot out from the top of the highest bar in the display like oil from a geyser, except for customers in Las Vegas and...

Okay, I know this was a joke but they didn't even get the amount of bars Cingular uses right.

I personally didn't find this one humorous.
