skip password on voicemail

Hello Moto

Apr 1, 2006, 12:29 PM
i searched this forum for a way to skip the password on voicemail and the thread was from '03... i know verizon changed their vm last year and on the new voicemail, is there a way to skip. used to you could change the vm number in the phone, add a pause and then the password. my in-laws both have verizon and when i tried that, it didn't work... is there something i'm not doing right or does verizon not allow this anymore? thanks in advance for the feed back!!!

can't do it from the default vm number, but you can create a new contact doing the same thing and put it in the speed dial 1 position. then just use that to call in, instead of the message that shows on the screen.

Actually, that's not true. In most of the new phones you can do it from the default. I have done it on mine and helped countless people program theirs. Simply make sure you are using a time pause and then the pin and #.

I can set it as a contact in my razor, but when i go in voicemail settings it will not let me insert the pause on the preprogrammed voicemail setting. So I just made a seperate contact for voicemail, no biggie i just voicedial it and it auto enters it.

You know I used to set up customer's voicemail in the same manner. Until I realized it handicaps them. God forbid they lose their phone or need to check voicemail from a landline. They come running back to the store and I have to help them reset their voicemail. I'm sorry I just have to much to do. With 51 million customers I just don't have that kind of time.
