waited over 40 minutes for help at Verizon Store....
Went in to my local Verizon store today so I can check out the Treo 700W, after inputing my name and info on the touch panel and waiting over 40 minutes for my name, I had to walk out... there were still 2 people in front of me and a couple of them walked out also.
Another funny thing is that I overheard a sales person compare the Treo 700W/Treo 650 with the PPC 6700 to a potential customer... He told her and I quote: " The Treo's are much too bulky compared the the 6700, and to be honest with you, you'd be a trend setter with the 6700, it is just soo cool". I almost LOL in front of them.

im very sorry you had such a long wait at the store if you want to get a good PDA phone i would reccomend the Treo 700w or the 6700 both are awesome phones and if you give customer care a call they would be more then happy to order you on, its *611 or 1 800 922 0204. or you could try another store.
as for what that store rep said i dont agree with that at all. while i do agree that the 6700 "is just soo cool" the treo's are nice also and are not bulky

ps while at work your not supposed to give opions of particular phones as we all have agreements with the manufactures

I read post like this and I'm always stunned because here in Washington State there is no sign in sheet/ touch screen and I'm immediately help when I walk in. I guess other cites are just a lot busier. I would be pissed if I had to wait that long Circuit City I would go. 🙂

iv heard from customers that they had to wait a long time at the store im not sure why that is but its unfortunant. some stores apparently get very busy and maybe we need some more reps for those stores.

I would like to apologize to you for having to wait. Believe me I understand the frustration. I wish they would allow me to hire more employees to help you. I'm not sure that would help though. With 51 million customers what we need is more direct stores to help you. Where I work, we are the only direct store for about a 60 mile radius. So if you want your NE2 credit you have no chose but to wait. We are only allowed to have 6 sales person on our stores payroll. I encourage you to email (not call customer service) and let them know about your wait time experience. Your opinion and voice is much stronger than mine. We are doing our customers such a dis-service by making them wait.

Or...here is a novel idea...let the indirect agents be competitive with the NE2. Give us rebates that we can give to customer and they can send in for the credit. Or allow us to call in and have a credit issued on their account. Seems like to me it would pay for itself if the retail stores are losing customers due to it...

what are you talking about.?? US indirects are shady and don't know what we are doing. why should we be able to offer the same pricing as the company we sell for. Not only do we get to compete with other carriers rates we have to compete with VZW phone pricing. Like the RAZR buy one get one.. thank god that crap is over!!
Financially I understand that they have to pay us and buy down the phones. but they could atleast reduce commision to where we can offer it and they still profit. I sure as hell know they make a killing on the phones we agents buy from them.

we love our indirect agents, we are all on the same team here guys.
I personally tell people to go to a direct vzw store when they are upgrading becuase I know you guys have to pay for the phones from us then if you discount it with a ne2 or something you will be losing money, thats why i tell them to go direct. if a cust needs a battery or a headset tho and theres an indirect agent near them ill call em up see if they got one if so ill send the customer in.
