Activation Fee on Renewed Contract? How can I get out of that.

I know $35 is not a lot but it seems trivial to charge me money to sign another 2 year contract. I have to get a new phone as my hinge on my LG is about to come completely off. Any thoughts. Thanks.

If you're getting a new phone, then they have to activate that phone in the system. Hence the fee... 😢

There is no activation fee for renewals...it is only a 1 time cost on your very first bill...if there is someone asking for another activation fee go to the manager or supervisor cause that aint right

Actually, the policy just changed. $15 for 2 year or $35 for 1 year renewals if you change ppland and upgrade equipment on the SAME DAY. I don't agree with the policy, but it is the current policy. Call customer service and ask very politely for a credit of the $35. I know I'd give it to you.

😁

Obviously the way to get out of it is to change your pplan the day before to the new promos then upgrade your equipment the next day.

If you do that, you wont make sales reps very happy.

👿

I asctually hate when customer service does that.

BAH! I don't get paid comission. I get paid to make the customer happy. You know sometimes people call my customers back and ask them HOW I DID and their response can AFFECT MY RAISE on my yearly review? I get paid to tell the customers how to take advantage of the system to the best of their ability so they can save time, money, and effort. I get pai...

we do to get paid to tell the cusomter how to take advantage of the system. we get paid to provide them with a service and to help them with questions. we do not get paid to tell them how to cheat and get things they do not deserve. I take it you are the type of person that would give them 10.00 a 20 dollar plan just to keep them.

vzwcustserv if you would read the m&p there is no fee for a renewl only on activation's. That is why they call it a activation fee, not a renewl fee. Before you post pls read and know what you are talking about.

Actually, I work in a retail store in the Midwest, and there is NO ACTIVATION for renewal upgrades. There is a $11.25 upgrade process fee for non-new every two upgrades. How can someone be charged an activation fee when there phone is currently active?

side note, maybe some "newbie" sales person didn't realize that our billing system I2K doesn't attach the charge for activation when upgrading..
