Why Do Circuit City VZW Stores Hide the Nokia 6256 Under the Counter?

I have the 6256, and it is a VERY good phone. Reasonably-priced too... its $99 with a 2-yr, and $149 with a 1-yr at CC VZW stores.

But they (just like Best Buy) always seem hide this phone UNDER THE COUNTER. The only time I ever saw one of these puppies on display is during that 3-day 'deal' when CCs first got the phone and were selling it at a special price. After that, bam, back to under the counter.

What's the deal? It almost seems like a conspiracy... you'll never get a 6256 unless you know enough to ask someone to pull it out from its 'super secret hiding place'. What the H?

every verizon store has a diagram of how to put up their phones, exactly which phones are to go in certain places, which ones are live, which ones are dummies, etc. not every CC kiosk is designed the same, but in most cases there aren't enough places for all the phones. The 6256 is usually one that doesn't make the cut. Like you said it only comes out when there is a special on it, which isn't frequently. A lot of other phones meet the same fate, right now we aren't displaying the e815 for instance (its a crime I tell ya). I will bring out the box 'o phones if a cust doens't seem interested in what they see, or if it sounds one of the hidden phones would meet their needs. But in the 6256 case, it isn't a very attractive phone, nor is it smal...

That's a shame. The 6256 may be a bit ugly, but it does jus' about everything well, especially reception and voice quality, plus it doesn't seem to have the bugs or durability probs common to Motos.

I'd definitely take it over an 8100 (Vcast shmeecast), and any Moto 'cept possibly the 815. Oh well.

I agree the Nokia 6256i is a very good phone and should get more of the lime-light. If it makes you feel any better Shock it’s proudly on display at the Best Buys in Lynnwood, WA 😎

The Nokia 6256i is the only Verizon handset that has full OBEX Bluetooth file transfer. Verizon has been fighting that profile ever since the V710 was released.

Getting an answer to "Why doesn't Verizon sell the Nokia 6256i at their corporate stores" would be a better question.

Guys, We can't go ahead nad say it does everything well.

How about Voice Dialing ?? It's the worst out there. It does not have speaker independant voice recog. and it can only dial about 20 numbers max and it just doe snot work.

Also the Redial and missed calls screens suck !

If you hit send on every phone. It shows who you called and who called you etc..

On the Nokia it only shows I think who you called. If you want to see who called you you have to press a bunch of keys to get to anohter screen. HORRID !!

Not sure about you guys but I get and make alot of calls and I like to see whats going on all day long. Calls missed etc..

The 6256 sucks in this area.
