So I used to sell Cingular, about 2 weeks ago, and now I sell Verizon. So what is some helpful info that I can glean from you Verizon reps? Like what phones do you feel perform the best as far as signal, quality, returns. I have to at some point buy a Verizon phone so that I can demo it for customers, should I buy one that's out now, or is there something coming up soon that I should wait for?
I sold Cingular so I know how to sell a phone and how it all works pretty much, but whatever info you guys have, even tips on what you've found to be successful in selling Verizon's features, or just maybe things you've noticed or whatever. I'll be checking this thread from time to time so leave whatever info you have and I'd appreciate it.

bassplayer,
Play with the LG VX8100, Motorola E815, LG VX9800, they are great phones. I am not sold on the Samsung a950. The internal antenna on the top of the phone doesn't excite me because of the signal being blocked by your fingers..Treo 700 is a good phone as well. Get to know the basics of the Windows Mobile. Especially the bluetooth connections. It will help you in the long run. They are all digital phones and I do not know where you are located but some great tri-mode phones are the LG VX4650 (senior set loves this one, loud), LG VX5200, LG VX6100 (if you can still get them).
Good Luck in your sales.
I work for an indirect in Northern Wyoming in case you were wondering...

phones i would say are good sellers with less turnaround so far for me are the sam 850, the lg5200, mo v325 (as far as basic camera phones...then just basic phones i would go with the NO 2128 (yes its a bar phone but reception in the midwest is outstanding) then lokkin at top of the line phones i would go with the lg8100, and the razor (some people have problems but all of them we have sold haven't came back), i am also a big fan of the NO 6236i (it has all the features of my 6256i even though its a bar phone) all these phones are digital which is ok as long as your in a good area (most places it doesnt matter), and last of all i would say the 6700 just cuz i think this phone is the shiznit...
and the best way i can tell you to help your...

Anything LG won't let you down. Watch out for Motorola, there are some good ones like the E815 but they are few and far between. Talk to them about back up assistant to back up contacts and sync with Microsoft outlook's calendar, this is a great service through Get It Now. VZ Navigator is just awesome and now available on the LG VX9800!

The speaker phone on the 8100 is AMAZING, my sister called me using hers and I didn't realize I was on speaker phone until she told me... only flaw I really noticed with this phone is you can blow the speakers if it's too loud. the 8100 was rated #2 by consumer reports. The #1 rated phone was also VZW and that was the e815. Whenever a customer is interested int eh Razr I also tell them about the e815 (at least until the new razr comes out) The e815 has all the same qualities as the razr (except the thinness) plus transflash...
I have never sold a 950, the 8100 has all the same feature but a different color and different style MP3 player and a lower price tag.
The A630 is the most durable phone I have ever seen. I sell that to all the cons...

Thanks everyone, not just ESmurf. The info on the phones is very helpful, especially the loudness factor I know a lot of people are concerned about how loud their phone will be.
My coworkers hate the nokia 2128 because it's so ugly that they don't sell much of it, but I know nokias from Cingular were the best. Good to know that these are good too.
More info will be appreciated, but I think this is good, I'll keep checking back.

welcome to verizon bass! my top sellers:
lg 4650 - trimode, sturdy build, loud! (i sell to a lot of seniors and people in fringe areas)
lg 5200 - top selling midlevel phone, good clarity, trimode
lg 8100/moto e815 - top selling vcast phones, good clarity, feature packed.
over all i sell more 8100s, i'm sure because it is the phone i have and i use it to demo. the video wall papers is a great deal closer. (it's the little things.)

I would have to say that our biggest sellers are E-815's. They are relativly inexpensive and do almost EVERYTHING!
I have an 8100, and is great for texters, you can look at the texts, pix, flix, and missed calls on the front screen! As far as i know, the only other phone that does that is the V (9800).
a great way to sell text to people who probably wouldn't go for it otherwise is GOOGLE. Its the same info as 411 connect, but uses messaging. to use it you text whatever it is you want to find to 46645 (Googl). EX. John Smith. Anywhere Ca. and it comes back with a phone number and an address. you can also get movie times, weather report, ect. = great way to boost data sales.
As for best reception in remote areas i would go with any LG wit...

google is a great way to sell the text. i personally use it 50+ times a month. that would be a lot of texting charges without a package, and way more with 411.

Is there any particular per message request charge? (I have an unlimited text pkg.)
I use various pull down options sending a message to 1401 already. Thanks.
...
as far as a charge from google? no. just your regular text messaging charges.

Moto has changed their charging ports now (currently only on the razr and v325) so instead of the very unreliable one they had it's now like iEEE1394 plugs. (Fire-wire) I've had a few customers still have problems when they plug the charger in it'll say "Unauthorized Charger" just give them a new one, it'll work fine. As far as with the old charging port (still on e815's) if they have a problem getting them set up with a new charger should fix the problem. It's not the phones that go out its the plugs.
Have you had any questions come up that your coworkers may have been less than helpful on?
