chris_lt1

Wow!!! according to JD Powers & Assoc. we are now #2 (out of the top 7 service providers) in customer service behind T-Mobile

(the next statement is in no way a cop out or an excuse!!!)

.....but....phonepimp.....at least we're not #6 in customer service, Cingular could only manage to beat Sprint PCS (like thats a tough task)

Regardless. Our customer service owns. It takes like 10 seconds everytime i call to get to a live rep. plus with the amount they credit our customers, its ridiculous. 😁

With the attitude of you customer service people on this webpost (that of a Sprint PCS sales rep), holyer than thou, I will bet my left nut that VZW is in for a slide in the near future.. While others strive to be like VZW, VZW is now striving to be like Sprint PCS...

According to what I read on JD Powers website is that VZW is tied with T-Mobile for Customer Service but overall Network Quality VZW blowes T-Mobile. I am not partial to either I am trying to find out what is better for my needs. I want to make a phone call on my cell phone I know that seems weird. I just want my phone to work when I want to make a call. Maybe I am just crazy. Can anyone make unbiased opinions?

Not being a technical person myself, I have done some research. Consumer Reports rates VZW #1 in every major market they tested. I recently switched from ATTWS, having tried both the GSM and Digital (TDMA) service. Both were not good for me. I have had Verizon for only just over a week, but my phone, the Samsung SCH-A670 works great, even inside a concrete and steel building and parking garages. T-Mobile (GSM) offers many more minutes for the same price, but for me, reliability is most important. Go with VZW!

I have been a VZW customer for a whopping week and a half! I contacted customer service last night for the first time to cancel some services. I got through to a live person instantly. The guy, I wish I could remember his name, was extremely courteous and really went out of his way to welcome me to VZW and explain available customer service features. Additionally, I set up my personal service through our VZW company representative via email on July 1. On July 2, I had the phones, already programmed and ready to go. Also, unlike my old ATTWS phone, the VZW phone actually works, all the time! So far, so good!

Read it and weep! 🤣

"According to the J.D. Power and Associates 2004 study, T-Mobile achieved an overall customer service performance score of 103 points. Verizon's customer service score was 98 points, while the overall industry average customer service score was 93 points.

In the same study in 2003, T-Mobile placed a close third to Verizon and Nextel, which tied for first place. The difference between the three competitors in 2003 was so small that J.D. Powers and Associates could not measure it as statistically significant. A statistically significant difference requires at least three points.

In 2004, T-Mobile's #1 ranking in customer service is considered a clear and statistically significant leadership position. T-Mob...

Considering that I was a VZW customer for 3.5 years before switching to TMobile, and since my coverage w/TMo now kicks my previous coverage in the butt and down the block, I can definitively say that at least where I live I have GOT a network! I really prefer the quality of reception, my phone and pretty much everything about TMobile, irrespective of my paycheck... VZW was in the habit of five-bucking me to death and I wasn't all that jazzed about the CC reps either--although I must say the ones we have here who were former VZW reps are pretty darned good... 😁

If Tmo provides such great customer care than why, according to a 2004 report from InStat, are 24% of Tmo customers considering changing carriers.

Cuase if they don't live on a freeway or in a heavy populated urban area they can't use their phone without getting smacked with roaming charges
...

We don't HAVE roaming charges! If you can make a call and have a NW plan, you're covered. TMobile network or roaming partner makes no never mind. The only place in the US where you'll get roaming charges is Alaska, although if you roam on BellSouth (Cingular) in NC your mobile to mobile minutes won't bill correctly, but that's a different issue entirely.

True, NO roaming charges, your phone won't even work. Same thing as changing your sys sel to HOME ONLY. Instead of "ROAMING" you see "SEARCHING FOR SERVICE"

Good for you guys!

I'm so sick of hearing that everyday "We're #1" crap.

What's gonna change because of this, nothing.
