holy EVDO
Just did few speedtest from bandwidth.com, is this site legit? Ran 4.0, 4.2 and 4.3 on three tests tonight in the chicago suburbs. EVDO isn't supposed to be this fast according to reports and network claims. I have never hit over 3.2 meg until today, anyone else see speeds like this over the VZW EVDO network?

verizon low balls the speeds on purpose, the average is probably around 600-700 but in a good area under right conditions the thing can fly!! By low balling the number they don't leave their self open for ticked off customers. Promise less, deliver more=happy custoemr! Promise more, deliver less= pissed off customer!

anyway.....I'm fairly certain that Ev-DO has the ability to multiply connections and increase bandwidth for a single person....but I doubt VzW would set up their network to do that for random people sitting in Starbucks or anything.

bot that is specific, are you referring to the ones that say they can monitor your bandwidth so they can shut you off if you are running a server through them or something shady? Just don't understand, you slap the laptop car in, you can go to any website you want, isn't that the point? what is restricted?

we've already gone over this......I don't feel like digging up the threads.....all ISP's have restrictions. That's the way they work.....If you run too much bandwidth on Comcast Cable internet, they will shut you down as well (I have seen it done).

i have sprint's ev-do (pc-card) network and on that website (bandwidth.com) i also get an average of 3.2 mb/s which i dont think is true becuase when i go to http://speakeasy.net/speedtest/ i always get less. in my view, i dont think that website, bandwidth.com, is a legit site and i think that the speakeasy one is a bit more legit.
regardless, its still fast.. i agree, the speeds that are on bandwidth.com arent speeds that REV O would obtain. It is fishy.
try speakeasy.. if they are the same then you know it is legit, but when i try it, it isnt the same or even similiar.
