I knew the 100 million, I found the first phone, and some of the others I just knew, but not all honestly. I kinda did a cntrl+C cntrl+V type of thing lol. Good questions though, and now I know, and knowing is half the battle! GI JOE!

I wonder why all war based cartoons are with the Army, where's my jar head cartoon on saturday mornings?

man......I failed miserably.....but I really doubt that the majority of cell phone users call 911 with their first call. I also really doubt that gunny prefers the company of women. 😉

lithium batteries are memory based not nckel, cadnium, or nickel cadnium. gotcha

that is incorrect......

NiCd batteries have a "memory"(if you don't fully charge it, the battery may not hold a full charge)......

Lithium Ion/Lithum Polymer batteries have no "memory", they have a limited amount of charge that the batt can take (only about 500 full charges as far as i know)

I live in the KC area. I purchased my first mobile phone, a 3-watt Motorola bag phone, at a local Sears, in 1989. I don't remember my exact rates, but I had to pay something between $35-$50 per month, and around $ .25 a minute - no included minutes, that rate was from minute one. This was some special rate available on what was billed as the "Homebuilder's Assoc. Plan". Service was with Southwestern Bell Mobile.

I remember my first handheld, an Audiovox. I payed about $200 to have it "cloned" with my bag phone, so that they both had the same number. That way I had the more powerful bag phone in the car, and the handheld when out. I could only have one of them turned on at a time. Otherwise, if a call came in, and both were on, it ...
