Rep Question - Help with Ruined Phone
Thursday night, when driving home late from a local watering hole, I accidently dropped my LG 8100 into a glass of Diet Coke which was in the cupholder in my center console. I didn't realize it until after I got home, about 20 minutes later. I immediately popped the battery, rinsed in plain water, and started drying with a blowdryer. After about 30 minutes, I tried to turn on the phone again, but no luck. To make a long story short, it's fried.
My question is this; is there any way to do some kind of exchange for another 8100 at my local VZW store? I'm willing to pay something, hopefully less than $50, and don't care if the phone is refurbished. I actually had another new in the box 8100 which I activated Friday morning as my replac...

I was cycling in Maui and was 15 miles from civilization when I saw the dark grey clouds comming. I headed back to the hotel but it started to rain. I sought refuge under a tree, but it started raining so hard that it folded all the cover down. I finally started cycling back in the rain and 5" of water on the streets, with my phone tucked under my cycling shorts to keep it as dry as possible. (I always have a headset hooked up). It was drenched and nothing would work. I pulled the battery, and parked it about a foot in front of a blow dryer on low, and left it for 3 hours.
I really had to drive the moisture out of it over time, NOT HIGH heat. It worked flawlessly ever since.
You may try opening up the clamshell, removing the battery ...
