free 411 call
Has anyone tried this. I have heard that you can dial an 800 number and get phone numbers for free instead of calling 411 and paying $1.49 each time. The only catch is if you are looking up a number of an advertiser that advertises with them, you have to listen to a 15 or 20 second ad before you get the number, so, I guess the only cost is that you use a couple of minutes of air time.
The following is the number I have heard of
1-800-411-save
1-800-411-7283
Is there any reasons not to use this service, besides taking money away from verizon or cell carriers?
...
Use 800-FREE-411 , I use it all the time, about 25% of the time you have to listen to a 10 second competitors ad, which is not that bad.

if it's there use it, or use google sms.

Theres also...
(866) 895-3124 - Backdoor number to AT&T's #121 service (TellMe Services). Not helpful for 411, but great for Sports, Weather, Movie Times, etc.
