Myself and as I've seen elsewhere, starting with the LG 6100 and then with the 8100.
At first the life with the 6100 was good
not great, and diminished very quickly,
when I upgraded to the LG 8100 same problem from the start. After a couple replacements is fine. As for a friend of mine also with the LG8100 has had many replacements Batteries as well as Phones to no end, or fix.

I have the 8100 and find that my battery does go after excessive usage (text mostly)..but i have a charger in the car, home, and at the job so i keep it charging..you can purchase an extended life battery for your phone..i think the pricing now is like $49.99..but other than that i say use your old 6100 chargr and keep it in a place like at your job or somethin

As far as using the other charger, I have it here at work however my problem is trying by swapping working devices it just appears the problem is neither or both!? I don't know how this worked I swapped the battery at first in the 6100, and used the original battery
(no good in that phone)
Swapped the original from 8100 for orig. 6100
no problems for me since but it shouldn't work
Using the original low hold bat. from 6100...

CDMA does have shorter battery life by default. Don't ask me why, but thats exactly what my VZW salesperson said...since I live with him.
He also said it had something to do with the signal type and stuiff.....but i was confused.
Something about the battery not lasting as long as GSM due to getting parts of your signal from 3 different towers. *shrugs*
Since GSM only needs one tower, I guess it saves on battery life?

When they went from the original version of the 8100 to V04, the battery life improved greatly. You have to remember, with these new phones and all their extra features, your going to have shorter battery life than the phones you used to have to just make and recieve calls only. Compared to other VCAST/VCAST MUSIC/MP3 phones out right now, the 8100's battery is actual pretty good. I'm not saying this becasue I'm partial either, because I'm not currently using the 8100.

The device I have, was purchased as the original firmware. It was at this time when I resolved my battery issues, now my phone has been updated completely (and set back to .mp3)
However the same model at the same time frame
and market, replaced phones V.4's and V.7's, as well as close to a dozen battery replacements (standard and extended) is still having these issues. The only constant is the network or plan.

most new phones are starting to adopt universal parts (note how almost every lg uses the same battery, charger, and how many moto's use the same battery). Depending on which phone you have, how much you use it, as well as a bunch of other things, your battery life will drop over time. example: my mom doesn't really use her phone that much, but she keeps it on her charger all day, her battery wont last a day anymore and it's only 9 months old.
Example 2: I don't talk, but i do play mp3's and vids all day on my phone. I drain my EXTENDED life battery in the course of an 11hr day. it used to last almost 2 days between charges. but i stray...
the lg-vx8100 uses a lot more power on idle than the 6100, because of how much stuffs been packed in...
