i have a question, but its sort of hard to ask.

ok i bought a phone in '04. then i got another phone in '05 on the same family plan.
this year i want to upgrade the phone i got in '04...but the only problem is that phone is broken into pieces.
is there a way i can switch phone numbers from the one i got in '04 to the one i got in '05 so that i can cancel the '05, and upgrade from the broken one purchased in '04?

or will i have to wait until next year to upgrade the one from '05?
do you get the question? sorry its so confusing.

thanks to anyone that answers

you can switch back to your older phone as long as its GPS compliant. but it will NOT reverse the agreement you signed to upgrade.

If one of the lines on your share plan is elig for upgrade go ahead and upgrad THAT LINE, after you activate it you can immediatly do ESN changes (swap phones from line to line) so you get whichever phone on whichever line you want. this is free to do thru customer care and its simple just have both phones with you and call 1800-922-0204 from a landline phone or a cell thats not one of the two in question.

Customer Service is supposed to wait 24 hours prior to doing an ESN change that was purchased as an upgrade. Some reps will still process the ESN change, but they're not supposed to change the ESN. You could always do what some customers do ... Keep calling until you get a rep that will change it. 🤣

Also, keep in mind that there is an ESN change fee of $20. It's free online at www.verizonwireless.com

Good Luck

ignore this post quin, i dont know where he works or what region but customer care doesnt charge for esn changes, and theres no 24 hour rule that i have ever heard of. if you upgrade you just have to actiate it on the line you upgraded it with, then you can swap the phones if you want, for free.
