Sirius radio and Verizon?

yah sirius is pretty sweet. but it wouldn't be a shame considering it wouldn't effect cingular/your sirius subscription that you already have.

AM/FM radio could come to handsets too, but Verizon would not allow it. The whole Verizon Bluetooth scam is centered around hacking OEM firmware. The tactic is to force 'off network' features onto their paid subscriber network to generate revenue, simply because the technology is available to cripple that feature and then measure it's usage.
So the Bluetooth problem could be only the tip of the iceberg. Charging for 'off network' features could eventually mean subscribers paying for printing of pictures from the phone, ...

My point was that Verizon's business model of charging for every off-network feature and trying to make it proprietary will not work with the topic of the post. They will never allow users to link to the services they already subscribe to.
