Switching from Cingular to Verizon

I am switching from Cingular to Verizon for EVDO. A couple of questions that I can't seem to get answered at any of three stores I went to. (Philly area)

1. All the Verizon phones seem to have the same interface. Is that always the case? I am assuming it is hackable back to the manufacturers interface.

2. Is Vcast the same as internet access? In some basic searches I couldn't find out how to go to a basic URL.

Some of the newer handsets that are coming out in the next couple months are supposed to have n UI that can be customized. At this time, all of the handsets have a standard interface. "hacking" or changing the UI using third party software is against the contract and could possible break it. Allowing VZW to charge you $175 ETF. So, be careful with that kind of stuff 😎

With the Vcast there are two packages you can subscribe to. Vcast Video only for $10 a month which does not include the mobile web. The second package is the Vcast with mobile web for $15. The nice thing about the $15 package is that it includes unlimited data transmission and it does not use your airtime when searching for videos / the web. If you don't see yourse...

also if your looking at tethering a vcast phone.your looking at paying 59.99 or so for a plan that will allow you to use phone as modem for lap top.
