I must be missing something here! If I understand what you guys are saying - the 8300 will be better because its menus can change colors??? Surely, there must be a better reason than that! Both phones might be great and both might be horrible - I believe in the coming months that the public will decide. But I am assuming that call quality and features related to call quality will be the over-riding factor (and not menus changing color).

First of all, it is larger (the A930 is very slim), it has an external antenna, a seemingly played out design, a hige flip mechanism, as well as only Bluetooth 1.1.

The A930 so far looks like a much nicer, smaller, and more streamlined handset, complete with a very unique horizontal front facia.

I'm also waiting for the 8300. I just got the demo for the new Nokia slider yesterday and I like what I see except - no memory card 😕 big downer. I NEED that. Yes, It is vital to my existence.

im not trying to be an a** or anything but i have owned both samsungs and lg i have had at least two of each phone. historically samsung makes a better phone for a few reasons. first off lg batteries have a tendency to die quickly after the first few months of use i have had this problem with multiple lg phones and so has my brother and my dad. it gets so bad that after a year the phone does not retain a charge for more than 10 hours. but with samsungs after 2 and a half years the battery still retains the charge for at least 2 days. that is one. secondly the lg8300 looks exactly like the 8100 just in gunmetal gray. third, if you want an mp3 phone why not go with samsung, just in case you don't know samsung makes all the chips for ipods....

There are a few other difference between the 8300 and the 8100 besides the color and Flash. My favorite is since it goes to a MicroSd rather than a MiniSD the phone is a little bit smaller - not ALOT but a bit.
I don't know what it is but I just like LG better as a company. I know them better. I see their reps and I never see a Samsung rep at one of my stores. I'm just more comfortable with LG as a whole. It may be a poor reason to choose one phone over another but hey - thats free choice right?! I wish Motorola would come out with something that doesn't use the Razr number pad, besides the Q. I prefer Moto to all but, this new fad is disgusting.

I had the 8100, liked it, but got bored with it. The 8300 does interest me, but the things that sway me from it are the fact that it DOES look almost exactly like the 8100 only all one dull color (which I kind of like "difference" in a phone, like the 8100), and the fact that it has the stub antenna. I have been using the Samsung 950 and looking into the new Samsungs for the fact that they have intennas. I know, some of you will say, but reception is better with an antenna, etc. etc. etc. BUT-I have never had a problem with the 950 and reception in my area, and personally like the looks of a phone with an intenna better. I kind of like the 930 except for the outside screen, looks like an old-school pager. I think I may wait for the 990...

Guys,

Let's get real here.. I tested the LG8100 against the 950 months ago , some of you might remember.

The 8100 has huge problems.. The Voice Dial sucked. The Blue tooth has a horrid problem with echo and yes every 8100 does it just some people tolerate it..

The 8100 is plagued with issues and I hope that the 8300 is all fixed up but my guess is that samsung will win again in overall quality and usability. This 930 is freaking sweet and it's going to be hard to beat..

I actually want to see the LG 5300 , I really want a little phone with Bluetooth for the wife with no other gadgets..
