Verizon stock takes a hit after spying scandal

The lawsuit filed against Verizon caused its stock to fall 1% today.

I was going to switch from Cingular to Verizon. It's a no-brainer.
But now I decided not to, because of Verizon's illegal acts against its customer. I can't trust them.
And yes, it concerns cell phone users, because sooner or later cell phone users will have to call a Verizon landline, and our phone number will be recorded.

well if you have cingular/tmobile/nextel/sprint/or any other carrier you will eventially call a verizon landline so your reasoning seems flawed.

My reasoning was not flawed. I said "cell phone users are affected". Not "verizon cell phone users". I made this statement in case someone here told me that I'm talking about an issue not related to this forum, which is about verizon wireless.

Ok that is what you said? So I guess my point was you will still call a verizon landline sometime from yout cingular phone and you said you are not switching to verizon(WIRELESS) because of this issue. So yes it makes no sense to me, Verizon and Ve...

I don't see how that justifies staying with Cingular. Cingular is wholly owned by ATT (formerly SBC communications). ATT is implicated in the same scandal. Now VzW is only 60% owned by Verizon Communications. Yet, somehow it makes sense that you should stay with Cingular because it's "safe."

whatever.

The only reason to stay with Verizon is because of the coverage, but what really hurts, are the prices, and the customer service, both are very shaddy....

cingular is owned by AT&T /Bellsouth both of which participated.

Verizon Wireless did not sell or give any records what so ever to the NSA or any other agency if you want to cry about something trivial and base your cell phone decisions off of some news story which doesnt even involve the providor you were considering switching then you are an idiot and do not deserve verizon service.

obviously usa today storys are more important then say i dont know, network coverage. good luck with the sub par network of whoever you are switching to, and god riddance off this forum.

Yea... umm.. Damn liberals. It's people like you who get all bent out of shape with out finding out the facts. All you people do is complain!! Got something to hide?? Go hug a tree or something. Waaaahh!

Plus, Last I looked AT&T was going to hand everything over too... wow, well look at that!!

May be you should stick to 2 cups and a string... you'll know when the government is listing, just look for a 3rd cup!
