Which carrier will push a manufacturer to make a waterproof phone first? You know it has to be offered by a carrier one day, just a matter of which carrier and which manufacturer? I'll tell you this much, it would be a HUGE selling point for a lot of people, a lot! Any feedback?

I would buy one in a heartbeat! I wish verizon would carry ruggedized nextel type phones. I think we will be waiting a very long time before anything like this offered if ever. But yes, a waterproof phone I can take in the pool would be sweet. 🤤 🙂

Pretty good idea. I'd say Nextel, they usually market those phones that can be "short dropped" (I like that 😈 )

well, it wouldn't have to take a beating but just moreover be able to be submerged in water for a few minutes and still work when taken out without any internal damage. A phone like that would be sweet... I'd think it'd have to only work via bluetooth headset so that it has no open holes.

Its been done before. Ericsson had a TDMA handset a number of years back. I don't recall the model #, but it was huge.
