To activate a phone your self: Go www.vzw.com, register for my acct if you havent already done so, login to my acct, then in my acct you can enter the new esn # located on the back of the phone not the battery.
If the esn change goes through, turn off your old phone, turn on the new one and dial *228, when the call gets connect you should hear a lady talking, just choose option 1 to program the phone. Repeat steps to reactivate old phone

you can activate it, if you can find the software online to re-program it. You can also activte Sprint PCS phones that are re-programmed to operate on VZW CDMA.
Disadavantages of this you ask?
Forget about warranty replacements.
50% chance the phone may not operate as glich-free as you think.
But hey, atleast you'll have cool phone for once 😛

Again check your info 85percent...analog only phones can not be activated for new service on our current network.
Who said anything about analog only?
Most Sprint PCS phones can be activated on our network with the proper software. I've seen a Treo 500 with our service, complete with gliches and everything

Again his question was about activating analog service...thats what we were talking about

Not familiar with the StarTac2004, but he mentioned Korean CDMA. Any CDMA should be able to operate with VZW as long as you can find the appropriate re-programming software.

Where can one find this reprogramming software? Especially one thats for VZW, i'm fairly confident it doesn't exist
I've tried to help a customer before that had a re-programmed Treo 500 and another guy had an LG 5350 working on VZW's network. So it does exist, where to find it is a different question..
