Here's a online chat with a Verizon Wireless rep:

ME: I see the Motorola E815 at $219 - no contract. I just signed a 2 year back in november. Is my price to upgrade to the E815 $219?

Verizon Rep: You are able to upgrade after 1 year since your last phone purchase

ME: 1 year? why?

Verizon Rep: That is the policy

ME: You mean to tell me, that if I want to buy a NEW phone, I CAN'T?

Verizon Rep: Unfortunately not at the moment.

ME: UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ME: I really can't believe your statement!!!!

They pretty much refused to sell me a new phone at any price. Is this NORMAL?

They must have misunderstood you. They can't sell you a discounted phone, but they can most definately sell you one at full-retail anytime. I'd call back and talk to someone else.

I can't believe it either. I rarely call Verizon Customer Service, but when I do I am amazed at how UNcusomer friendly they are. But that goes for just about all of the cell phone providers. Most either don't know what they are oing or care about customer satisfaction.

This is incorrect. You may always purchase any phone at full retail. I am not at work so ÃŽ can not verify that 219.00 is the full retail price...but doesn't sound very far off.

Yea prolly a misunderstanding.. Walk into any VZW store and say you wanna buy it at full retail. If its a store worth spit they should waive the esn swap fee. Or you can just take it home and do it online for free.

There is no ESN change fee for a full retail phone. The M&P is very clear on that.

Why is the 950 more than the 8100? That doesn't make much sense to me.
