PDA Question

I have a few questions. I don't mean to sound dumb, but I have never had a PDA before and therefore are clueless to a few things.

First of all, I am considering one because of my hectic schedule. I would love it for the organizing aspects of it mostly. I don't need the push e-mail or e-mail on it at all for that matter, so I don't want to purchase the expensive data plan (I pay less than that a month for my Verizon FIOS at home!). Anyway....if I don't purchase the data plan, can I still use all the functions of the phone/device? Would my text messages be billed under data or text? What else besides internet would be billed under data?

Thanks for your time.

Mary

Internet browsing and wireless sync. or push email will be charged per kb if you don't have a data plan. SMS and MMS(text or pix message) are not included in any data plan. You will need to purchase a text message package or pay per text.

A couple of follow-up questions:

  1. Does Verizon charge you for using your home's WiFi network? Is that what you mean by wireless sync?

  2. Is there a way to disable the phones access to the Verizon data network in order to avoid Verizon data fees (similar to the way most phones can disable "Roaming" access)?

Thanks,

In addition to the first reply you got; pix msgs count towards KB usage. It goes off the size picture being sent.
