Question about 4600

NB3567

Jul 16, 2004, 7:57 PM
I called Verizon yesterday about an issue and they asked for my ESN number of the phone.
I gave it to them and they said it started with a "D" - I told them mine started with "HEX" - They were like O - ok.
What does the "HEX" mean? Is this a re-conditioned phone and not a brand new one?
Anyone know? 😕

No, there are two ways for a ESN (Electronic Serial Number) to be listed with on a phone. Decimal and Hexadecimal. Most companies list both on the back of their phones, some companies just use the Deciamel which is the easiest for us (no confusing with O because its all numbers instead of letters and numbers). LG seems to be the only company I know of that lists it in only Hex on their recent line of phones. You have nothing to worry about with this, most Refurbs (also known as FRU) that I have seen has a sticker on the back of the phone Identifying it as such.
