So, I've been lurking on this board for some time now and have found it to be an excellent source of information on phones / bluetooth techy stuff / plans / etc. As my plan renewal date approaches, July 4th'ish, I've been actively reading reviews of current phones and have been heavily considering the 8300 as it gets such great reviews from everyone on here.
But, I checked out phonearena the other day and was amazed by the Nokia 6265i -- supports bluetooth DUN and various File Transfer methods, full duplex speaker, looks fairly attractive, MiniSD slot, MP3 player, 2MP camera, and a release date of June 17 (again, according to phonearena.com)
So, my question is -- what don't I know? Is there something terrible about this phone tha...

Doesn't seem like verizon is goign to be picking this phone up. there was a few of us that kept talking about this phone but I asked one of the moderator's of this site if he had heard anything. he said it will probably only go to a couple of smaller regional carriers. Which really sucks because I really really want that phone. I'm not even a big nokia fan but just love up the 6265.
...
I'm really disappointed to hear that.
It seemed like this was absolutely the phone for me as it was the perfect combination of techy add-ons and simplicity. I also really really want this phone.
On a related note -- is phonearena.com generally a reliable source?? This little go around has me pretty skeptical about other information that might be on that site.

I don't really know about phonearena since I can't get on there from work and never really look at phone stuff when I get home. I wish they were right on this one though, cause I want that damm phone. I do know verizon at least tested it because my verizon rep had seen some people testing the phone out in his office. Just sucks that it probably won't go past that.
...
Has your Verizon rep seen anyone testing the Samsung A990????? 😲
...
Never asked about that one I'm not obsessed with that like I am the 6265.

Hey pronto, you gotta look carefully at phonearena. it says the phone was released june 17th of 2005. yes, 2005. and being that nobbody has seen it or heard about it... i dont think we can get our hands on it. i am just as bummed as you are bro. it was the perfect fit for me. ANYBODY WITH INFO ABOUT IT PLEASE LEAVE SOME INFO HERE!!!

no evdo, no verizon ui, no verizon charging port(kept nokia port) and unlocked bluetoth. Yes the phone is wicked, but verizon is evil and slapped it down.I have been praying they would at leaste aprove it for the indirect channel like the 6256, but everyone i have asked has said it will never make it☹️

Well, Thanks all for your replies, I'm glad I'm not the only one pissed off that I can't get this phone.
Anyway ...

Yup- you're definitely not the only one.
The 6265 looked rockin' but I'd settle for ANYTHING bar style.
It's a conspiracy I swear to sell only flip phones with tons of movable parts so as to increase their 'insurance' sales and no-contract phone sales.
T-Mo has the t509- I ALMOST left Verizon for that phone and even Sprint has a "sport" model phone with plenty of features but built for durability. What does Verizon offer? Phones that have hinges in TWO places! 🙄
Glad I'm not a customer service rep!
My advice- try the LG VX8300. I have it now and absolutely LOVE it! (Yeah, it's a flip but what can you do?)

Check jdpower when comparing those phones.. look for phone manufacturers

I currently have the nokia 6255i flip phone and I am having problems with the durability of the phone. I am wondering if anyone has had any problems with the nokia 6265i slider?
