Verizon Wireless' handsets have come a long way since the Samsung A310.

I got this one in 2002. It didn't even have Get It Now or a color screen. It did come with three games though.

As featureless as this phone was, it sure worked great out in the boonies where AT&T, Cingular, Sprint, etc. couldn't even get 1 bar. Thanks analog mode.

Way back when (sometime mid 1994) I got a Motorola 88017 from Best Buy with US West Cellular( Which became AirTouch and then Verizon Wireless). For those really old schoolers out there it was basically the Motorola Ultra-Lite without the flip. It was the first phone that Best Buy sold that had vibrate on it - hardly anyone had heard of that back then. I still have the same number, still in the wireless industry and I won't buy a Motorola anymore and I won't buy a phone from Best Buy. Just a few things have changed since then.

My first VZW phone was the Motorola 120c that I got at Radio Shack in March 2002. It worked only if in an area with strong reception. Otherwise, the reception was s**t. I was glad to get rid of it in August 2004 with the Samsung a650, and still using that phone today, but trying to hold off until I see what comes out in July & August. But I have no plans to go back to Motorola after the 120c.

You can't base your opinion on one Motorola phone. Expecially the gay 120C that is free and is free for a reason. You get what you pay for. 🙄

My first phone on Verizon is the LG 9800. Best phone I have ever had by far. And I have had a lot of phones in the last 10 years.

Excuse me, but I didn't get that phone for free. Radio Shack was not offering that phone for free. When I signed up, Radio Shack at that time only offered 2 phones, the Motorola 120c for candybar, & the Motorola V60i (?). I I would have preferred the flip phone, but I didn't have the big bucks at that time. When I was eligible to upgrade, I didn't like the Motorola lineup, and wanted a basic flip phone. ...

ha ha rookies. BEFORE the QCP-800 I had the Audiovox CDM 3,000. and DH had the motorola Tele T.A.C 250. 1994-95 during transition from airtouch to verizon. I still have everyone one of them, including the Motorola Brick, and the way cool lighter Brick #85162A

When the QCP-800 came out we thought it was the most amazing thing ever! LOL 😲

My first phone was the GE Star. It was basically a handset with the tranciever in the trunk, it was touted to be smaller than the others. 10"x8"x3" needed an antenna on the trunk.
There were THREE (3) cell sites in all of the Los Angeles Metro area, and Verizon was Pac Tel Cellular. Circa 1983. $45/month, and $0.45/minute whether you call connected or not, Plus long distance when it did, if applicable.
All my driving time was selling time, and my highest bill was $1001.00, which I made up for with sales, easily. Changed careers in 1986.!! The phone may be in the garage...

That's exactly when I got my v710. I still have mine and it works pretty good.

I really wasn't interested in the class-action lawsuit for it. Wasn't it like $25 that I was entitled to because Bluetooth transfer didn't work?

I'll probably keep it until the A990 is released.

A T720. The phone was ok for the first year. After the first yr everything just went down hill with it. I used to hate cell phones, but I saw this one with "color screen" and I had to have it. I look at it now and it just looks so ugly.... but back then (2002) it looked nice 🙄

I would like to get my hands on a working V60.

Hubby works outdoor and hates the colored screens. He LOVED that v60. went through two of them. He wants a third!

In 2001, my 1st was the LG-VX111...a single band (850) and amps. I kinda liked it because it was small. But it had problem's over-heating and then they pulled it from the market. I was able to upgrade to the LG-510 before my contract was up.

I switched from Southwestern Bell Mobile to Cellular One ( VZW's predecessor in my area) in 1994. My first phone with them was a giant Moto flip phone - don't remember model number, but was analog (no digital at all then). First digital phone with them was a Qualcomm candybar - I was a "consumer tester", as a heavy user. First actual VZW phone was a Moto StarTac. Had a couple of those before switching to LG 4400.

My very first phone, with SW Bell Mobile, was a Moto Bag Phone, way back in 1989. First non-bag phone was an Audiovox handheld, in about 1992 or 93. Darn thing wasn't as big as the old Moto "Brick", but was at least 2x the LG 9800. Cost about $850 back then, as I recall.
