Motorola, Samsung, LG??????Need Help

I am a current Verizon customer, and I have never had a problem with their service. I am looking to get a new phone to replace a Samsung a670. I think my a670 has gotten fairly good reception although the battery life sucks and the ring tones suck as far as volume goes. Other phones I have had are the LG 4500 which I did not like because the button on the side were too easy to hit and change the mode to silent, Motorola v60, Motorola 120e.
I am looking for a phone that gets fantastic reception and none to few dropped calls. I am really not interested in the V cast or bluetooth...I use the phone as a phone and that is what I need it to do. I have read alot of reviews and people seem to have their preferences, but is there one of the t...

V325. The LG VX3300 is a really good phone for reception and calls and such, but it doesn't have Get It Now or anything. The VX3400 is supposed to be coming out sometime soon which will be really similar to the VX4400 from what I've heard. Looks like the 3300 with a display on the front.

Your not really going to get a great, yet plain, phone. If I had a choice of paying 29.99 for a 3300 or 49.99 for an 8300, it would be a no brainer for me to get the 8300. But I have heard good things about the 3400. But still I can't imagine the price of it being cheap enough to pass up a really great phone for a much lesser phone.

The 3300 is a better PHONE than the 8300. The 8300 just has better features. A lot better. And a lot more.

So I am still confused....do Lg's normally suck at reception or just the low end models? what about all the "reported" problems with the Motorola v325 locking up and such? is it a phone worth spending the money on? Or should I wait for the LG 3400, again all I need is a phone ....I do not take pics, or text...I just need a phone with great reception.

I still say go with the 3300. Those are awesome. I live out in the middle of BFE, and we get great reports about them. I've never had anyone come back with one (short of, "How do I use my voicemail again?"). The 325 is a good phone also, but I've had a two or three come back where the phone just stops recognizing the charger for some reason.

My brother had the Motorola V265 and he hated it just as much as his LG VX4400. But his LG VX4400 has worked longer than his Motorola V265. Only a year into his contract, his Motorola quit working, and decided to go back to the LG VX4400, which he says has crappy reception. He says his Motorola V265 also has crappy reception too. He isn't sure what he will get, but he's like me, he refuses to get Motorola again. He won't buy an LG again because of the VX4400. I don't know what I will get either. My only good experience with a flip phone has been the Samsung a650, but also the Kyocera 2235 for reception. I say if the original poster is looking at Samsung, stay away from the a850. My sister has that phone and complains about the speak...

The 4400 was an awesome phone too! Didn't get great reception?? It was one of the only phones that got reception on the Indian reservation I used to work near. He may have had a lemon, but those were great phones. I never had a problem with mine in the two years that I had it, reception or otherwise.

LG VX4400 was a true warrior. Great all around phone. Pricey for the most part...but very good. If that person doesn't get good reception with the v265 and the VX4400, I don't think they will get good reception with anything. The V265/276 did get good reception (the phone itself was junk though).

To spum & crazyeaglefan236: Were you in areas with plenty of cellphone towers? For Motorola, I still stand firm that those phones work best in areas with plenty of towers and signal strength was mostly strong. LG seems to be a hit or miss. Some phones seem to be good, while others of the same model are junk. My brother live in Knox Indiana and Verizon has few towers surrounding his area, since Knox is in a dry county. Both phones barely held a call, and both phones were tri-mode, so the phone was switching from analog to digital a lot. I couldn't use my old Motorola 120c at all in Knox. But since upgrading to the Samsung a650 in August 2004, I could use my phone out there and it held a steady digital signal, despite it being weak. Ev...

I'm in Wyoming. I'm pretty sure there are less towers here than any other state. I stand by what I said about those other LG phones in extremely weak coverage areas. I don't really deal with only digital phones because they're pretty much worthless for 90% of the people I deal with.

rural PA. Few towers. Motorola's kick all else in regards to reception. I have posted many times on this but I have had customers try every phone we carry and they all go with the E815 (ones in weak signal areas). I still carry the Nokia 6015 for reception purposes also. (that and I haven't had one returned...so they are freakishly solid). The LG VX4400 was another that we sold to people that were in weak signal spots because that phone would get reception...

I just posted that on howardforums about the topic. In my area (NW Indiana), it starts Monday the 19th. In Hobart Indiana, around the mall area, it's saturated with Verizon Wireless being in the mall (corporate kiosk) & inside Circuit City, then Best Buy selling service. Now add Wal-mart to that list. This is all in yards of each other rather than a mile or more.

29.99 for a crappy phone with no outside display, no get it now, no expandable memory, no music player, no camera. OR....
49.99 for a great phone, outside display, get it now, expandable memory, music player, camera and video, bluetooth, great speaker phone.
However the PHONE works all the other stuff is well worth the extra 20 bucks!!!

The 3300 is not a crappy PHONE. It has no features, but that doesn't effect the phone part of it. Notice that everything you listed is extra features. So I stand by what I said. The 3300 is a better phone, but the 8300 has much better and much more features. If he's not interested in features, why is it worth listing get it now, expandable memory, mp3 capability, camera and video, and bluetooth? It's not worth mentioning. So look at the reception.

3300 = digital and analog
8300 = digital

It's really pretty much that simple. The 3300 would work better for this person because he needs no features.

nobody really NEEDS these features thats why as a salesperson you invent the need. You give them a reason to need the features. Alot of people will say that only want a simple phone because they are intimidated by all the features. Nobody has ever showed them how easy they are to use.

I'm not trying to sell this guy on a phone. He said what he wanted, and I offered what I believe to be the best phone for his needs. I have no desire to invent needs for this guy as I have nothing to gain by it. So...the 3300 is still his best option.

bravo! I also do not follow the VZW propoganda of selling things to customers that they do not want or need. I would show useful applications of these data products, but it is still up to the customer...

listen I'm not a crack dealer or anything. I'm just saying that a person who has never used a headset wouldn't realize how much the want one untill you show them how to use it. its just like back in the day when the first cell phones came out. Yeah there were people that already needed to communicate on the go, but the rest of the world had to be convinced that they NEEDED a cell phone. Come on you guys, I'm not trying to go against selling with integrity. I'm just saying...

If I were talking to this guy in person, I'd use the same strategy that you are because I'd get more money in my pocket. The fact of the matter is, he asked for an unbiased, experienced opinion because he doesn't want to have to listen to sales pitches to get him something above what he needs.

Show real life application to features and/or porducts and then demonstrate it...show how it can multitask/simply/organize...etc. Simple sales 101...feature/benefit presenation. I know how people don't look at that...but it really works. Each and every time. It is amazing how you can sell a product...any product...if you just follow the simple tried and true methods of selling. Nothing is unethical about it. It is amazing how people will embrace technology if someone just takes the time...slows down...and shows it to them.

Of course when I have 15 customers waiting...I do have to do the opposite...speed things up. Maybe I miss a data sale or two...but data is usually the 1st thing to go in the sales process if I am extremely back...
