Verizon Family Share
I currently have 4000 minutes on my plan and I am paying $149.99 per month plus tax.
I want to add a another line to this account.
Verizon is telling me that it will cost $9.99 per month for the extra line, and my 4000 minutes will now cost $199.99 in the family share plan.
Is this correct ? I do not understand the additional charge for the same the amount of minutes just because I am adding another line.

It's because you are converting from a single line to a Family Share Plan. 4000 min's single phone = $149.99/mo. 4000 min's Family Share = $199.99/mo. The $200/mo includes 2 lines.

The reasoning does not make sense.
Other carriers just charge the $9.99 for the additional phone.

wrong. you have to be on a family share plan to add a line to a share plan. common sence ok? try to add a line to your single line cingular plan and let us know how that works.

I do not know about Cingular.
On Alltel you can add a line and share the minutes for the additional line charge of $9.99.

it has to be on a share plan. the 4000 minute share plan is 190$. the add a line is 9.99 total is 199.99
if you just have one single line and you want 4000 minutes its 149.99. you cannot add a line to single line plans.
...
or just add a 39.99 single line and you would be 10 bucks cheaper with more minutes...

why is it so hard to point out the obvious? Like family shares right now. I have someone that comes in and wants to add a line. They have a 450 minute plan and use about 400 minutes a month. I just sell them another 39.99 line and show that now they don't have to worry about dividing minutes up...each will have their own...and that they are only paying 10 bucks more a month then the 69.99. And I get paid for a real activation! Unlike this crap that VZW is doing to their dealers when you get 30 bucks more a month revenue and they only pay you based upon 10 bucks more a month!
BTW, I have a customer that is going from a single 39.99 line to a 149.99 family share. If I do this, I get paid as if I just added a 9.99 line. Freaking stic...
