Magnetic Pouch/Case

Does anyone know if a pouch/case has a magnet as it's lid, if the magnet itself is harmful to the cell phone?

I ask because I just got the Samsung A930, and was wondering if the magnetic lid in the pouch does any damage to the phone itself?

i don't think so.. the 9800 has a case with a magnet it as well. I don't think small magnets like that would have enough power to damage the phones.

when you say the 9800 has a case...do you mean verizon sold it from their store/website, or from a third-party?

VZW gets all their stuff third party. Xentris. Read the labels.

Yes, VZW sells that "case" for the LG VX9800 and it is really a universal pouch...

You're fine... A static magnetic field is fine, but I wouldn't run it through a bulk eraser or anything... BTW the speakers in the phone have neodimydium(sp) magnets in them, some of the strongest out there...

The *ONLY* issue I've ever seen with a mag case is with some phones, like the motorola e815, the phone detects the flip opening using a hall effect sensor and a magnet in the flip. On the e815 this sensor is top center of the keypad half of the phone, and when you pull it past the magnet on the flap in the case it makes the phone think you opened and closed the flip, and hangs up on the poor sod calling you... Just disable answer on open if this happens to you. 🙂
