lil_wayne_1029

I want to start new service but have no credit. I do not want to do prepaid because texting at .10 cents a message will kill me every month. Anways I want to know if i can get my friend to use his (Good credit) to help me start a new line of service with verizon and I can service that way. Hes 20 so there shouldnt be no problems right.

Dont flame me or call me a troll for this question.

You can do that, however, you will not be able to make any changes to the account without him.

Not true, he can be added as an authorized user to the account.

Which lets him pay the bill, and take over the account if the main holder dies... See the earlier thread on authorized users, it's a joke... :-/

In reference to my cingular account, my authorized user can do anything she wants to the account as long as she knows the last four of my social.

It wouldn't be a bad deal for this guy either.

Verizon used to just use that check. But I feel alot better about the security of my identity, when you have to have the account holder right there, with a photo id instead of a number that could have been over heard by anyone else standing in line at customer service.

???

The registered user has to know my last four of my the social along with the account passcode, and use their name to log in.

I don't see how much more secure you can be

like i said if I were a dishonest person and I was standing in line behind your friend, I could obtain all of that information just by listening. At verizon the account holder must be present with a photo ID to upgrade, start new service, or leave with a detailed copy of the bill. Yes it's an inconveniance, but one I would be willing to deal with to protect my identity.

If you are 18 then go get your credit ran. You'd be surprised at how many 18 year olds get approved with no deposit. Blows my mind.

Just for a laugh i had my credit ran two months ago and the rep told me it will cost me a $400 deposit for me to start service with verizon. I laughed because no cell phone service is worth that much money. So thats why im getting my friend to help me start service.

I disagree that NO cell phone service is worth that much money. Just the other day, I had someone drop $800 in deposits and $400 on phones. They didn't need to do it, but there are some people that need a cell phone that bad. From my personal experience, deaf people will also pay large deposits.

Ok, bear in mind that deposit comes abck to you, PLUS PRIME rate...

So you get $400 plus ~ 4.37%APY back after 12 months...

at $39.99/month for service look at it like you're paying for your WHOLE second year of service up front, and after 12 months probably won't have to pay for a while.

Actually, you'd probably be better off just paying a deposit. Getting put on friends' credit causes a lot of problems down the road.

why dont you get easypay. just like a regular plan without contract. plus this way you may get a little credit from vzw for the service to be able to start a regular contract account in your name down the road some time. instead of trying to get someone else to get a line in their name for you to use. so if you dont pay one of the bills the person who helped you gets screwed. so get something in your name and go from there. even if it is a prepaid phone. take responsibility for your own bills. and if you dont want to get something your self. then you dont need it.

Not possible. You don't even give a SSN or DOB for EasyPay. There would be no way for them to match it to you later down the road when you come in and they run your credit.
