I think it's hilarious when people bring these in to have them activated under a normal plan. But...can you dial 911 from a bag phone if it's not activated?

😳 well my sizes are a rough guess have not seen one in forever. Probably say the handset portion figure longer than a brick and not as wide not by much though and then a cord going to a bag that was maybe 3/4 the size of a laptop. and just rough ideas of sizes. and it could make calls audio sucked... did i say it could make calls. it was a great paper weight though 😕

And dont forget the 3 watts of pure analog power!! lol. 911 should still work on an un-activated bag phone, the ability to dial 911 with an unactivated phone is on the network side, it wont however have any sort of e911 ability, which means they wont be able to find you so you better know where you are when you dial it. Also you would have to be in an analog area.

Viable Simulacrum of a bagphone...

Take 2 VHS tapes in those godawful armageddon proof rental cases, stack them on top of each other, now put a row of 3 packs of cigarettes standing up side by side along one end... That's the base unit minus the battery and handset...

Now take a regular old cordless phone, lay it buttons down on top of the VHS cases, now take a spaghetti box and sit it alongside the above items, that represents the battery....

I hope I've given you some joy at this little visual exercise this afternoon... The weather is depressing here...
