Moto Bluetooth quality control (cross posted)

I'm really upset with the lack of quality control in my Moto bluetooth headsets ... I've had (no lie) over 10 different headsets (820 850 and 700) and it seems like its a crap shoot ... you can get one that sounds loud and clear .. and another of the same model and its volume seems to be way lower .. I've had no less than 5 Moto 850's connected with my phones .. and some were all great while others terrible ..

Take my 815 which I've had with verizon since it came out .. I had 5 different 850;s hooked up to it and 3 where loud and clear .. connection was awesome and 2 that were low and hard to hear .. the connection seemed to be unphased but the volume of the piece was way lower

As well when I tried to connect those to my Cingular phon...

I'm going to have to go with that fact that anything motorola makes sucks. Now the 815 is a good phone but I can't think off the top of my head anything else that moto has made that is any good except for that and the startac.

Well, the 815 is essentially the 710 but with a few minor changes, that is why it is a good phone, they essentially just upgraded some things on it and renamed it, it should be called the v710 v2.0, after the same phone being out for 3+ years they should have worked out most of the bugs, kinda like the 8100 and 8300.

I agree the Moto bluetooth headsets are crap. I've tried them all. Customers in my store especially have trouble getting a Moto headset to work with an LG or Samsung. But now there is a solution. The new Jabra BT500 works well with my Samsung phone and another employee at the store has had it work well with her LG. Give it a try.

Plantronics Voyager 510 and the Discovery 320. Both rock. I am not ordering another motorola BT. Once the ones I have are gone...they are gone. I will carry only Jabra and Plantronics. The 510 though is really awesome. Great sound. I have to turn my volume down or it will hurt my ear it is so loud.

good too. but the plantronics 510 is waaayyyyyy better for vzw phones.

its alot cleaner because the bluetooth antenna is bigger than alot of other headsets.

and the antennas in new vzw phones (exception moto phones) are small.
hence using the small antenna of a moto headset with the small antenna of an lg giving you problems.

i have a 640 and its awesome but talk time totally sux .. with work i usually keep it in my ear or pocket turned on .. the 640 doesnt last my shift

what I always loved about the moto is the flip .. the battery last forever if it not open and all you have to do is open it to connect

very simple

I just bought the V3

I've had 2 500's now and I constantly get complaints of echoing and sounding like I'm in a wind tunnel. I get tons of customer complaints about BT headsets and mainly motorola ones. I must say I am extremely disappointed with BT.

zero echoing and crystal clear sound quality on the Plantronics 510. Average battery life. But the sound quality is good on both ends. My wife now has the 510 also. I cannot even tell when she is on the bluetooth...

She has the 8300. AWESOME phone too. I keep with my V710 because of the mobile office with the national access. On the newer EVDO phones Verizon Wireless wants you to subscribe to a package. Which is understandable because of the high speed and if they didn't charge for it, the network would have too much traffic.

Anyway. Try the Plantronics 510.
