Is Sprint the next to Fall?

Just wanted to get some feedback on this from my peers...

Look at this trend

MCI: GONE
AT&T: GONE

Sprint is now the only long distance carrier remaining in the cellular game...could they fall as well?

Anything is possible, I would like to see Sprint bought out by VZW

This just sprint is changing their name to trudge; slowly coming to a halt--they can't sprint forever

they had some pretty good #'s though for 2Q almost 1,000,000 customers added...not too shabby

Also Qwest will be gone by the end of the year.
Sprint will be the next carrier to sell out. And due to the compatibility of their equipment VZW is the only company that should or could buy out Sprint. I would expect there to be only 3 major carriers by the end of 2005.

I hate to see any one corporation get too big or have most of the market share because three things generally happen.

1.) The Federal Government gets involved and breaks things up. Remember AT&T in the 1970's!

2.) Large Corporations have no competition and therefore rest on the past. Remember the Big Three Automakers in the 1980's Vs: the Japanese?

3.) Consumers don't benefit by competitive cost pressure downward, and see choice and innovation dry up.
