Just thinking...
I'm not looking to start another debate over who is the best because quite frankly, I think its getting old. All I would like to say is that I am ASSUMING all of the debate that is going on is because we all REALLY think that Cingular may have a good "go" at #1. I'm not going to decide who I think will be tops anymore because I really have no clue. This merger may have been the best or even the worst thing that Cingular has ever done. Either way we all know that Verizon and Cingular will both have phenomenal coverage. I don't really believe that the amount of subscribers either company has will affect which company people choose. Why don't we stop attacking each other and just accept the fact that people will choose what company is best for ...

That's pretty much the way I see it as a retail customer too. A captalistic free market economy needs competition. Both of these cell phone companies need each other. Like Coke Vs: Pepsi, or GM vs: Ford. Both improve because each is breathing down the other's back. Verizon, Cingular and the Consumer win.

Well said ruff-It's finally good to hear something "Constructive" out of this forum-I've watched the debates and to be honest alot of it is childish. It all boils down to what the consumer is happy with. I had Sprint-Pcs for almost 4yrs and I hear stories about crappy customer service,etc but to be honest I "NEVER" had any trouble with them until-in the last 3 months I started having trouble with dropped calls and decided to see what else was out there. I kept the same sanyo 4500 phone for almost 4yrs, it worked well for me. So it came down to Verizon and AT&T. The reason I went with AT&T is because we get a substantial discount at my job.
