The whole Cingular vs VZW thing...
Ok lets stop arguing about who has the better "network" or that GSM or CDMA is better than the other.
Fact. VZW is currently #1.
Fact. VZW has gotten a bit complacent
Fact. Cingular is currently #2
Fact. Cingular is working their arses off to take #1
Both sides have dropped calls. Both sides have unhappy customers.
VZW started with the best customer service. Cingular is working hard to take the position of best customer service.
Overall the only real difference I can see is that Cing's cust serv is not as good as VZW. And no that is not a slight on the CSR on Cing's side. I say that cause BOTH direct stores from Cing and VZW in my area suck arse. My dealership gives 200% better cust serv than the direct store here... Yet the V...

Competition benefits everyone... the carrier, because they have to, to quote Emeril LaGasse, "kick it up a notch". The customers, because competition makes things more even in the way of pricing and minutes, and the sales reps because they have to be on top of their game when things are more equal.

Don't you get it. Cingular is so much better, all 40 million of VZW's customers are brainwashed. GSM is such a far superior technology then CDMA, and the phones are cooler. Also, Cingular clears up your allergies, VZW doesn't do that.
Cingular never charges you roaming even if you pick atts tower, their in network or mobile 2 mobile coverae area is not even close to VZW's, it's clearly twice as big. Cingular has rollover while VZW doesn't. Oh yeah, and Cingular clears up your allergies.
How about data capability beside test messageing, GSM technology has a much much more secure connection than CDMA. Cingular has EDGE while VZW has mobile web(which is a dink internet joke on cell phones); however, VZW does have what is called national a...
