I accidentally deleted some txt messages that I really need now. If I call Verizon, do you think they would have records of past txt msgs? If so, any idea how far back?

nope dont keep text messages to resend to you. you could check online to view last 3 month of text usage but that pretty much give you who sent to or from and date/time not the actual message. also has to be on a bill will not work for message just done in the middle of your usage time period or billing month. sorry bout that cant keep due to privacy.

Privacy and storeage!

Even if everyone only did 1 text per day, there would be over 52million messages to archive every day. Yeah right.

Well Verizon has some way of keeping them on record because if it is a court case they can retrieve all the message information along with the message. My brother is a police detective in Arizona, and he has had Verizon retrieve messages before. I don't think they do it for just everyday purposes though...I believe a court affidavit has to be presented to the company.

They are available for 72 hours actually, but only through the courts, yes. People ask about this all the time and get mad when there's a process to follow.

I just tell them, "If it's too much work, it must not be that important."
