NE2 Question

Here is my scenario. I currently have two phones with two separate plans. Both phones are due for the NE2 in October. What I would like to do is put both phones on a family plan when I upgrade the phones. My question is if I put the second line on the family plan is it still eligible for the $100 credit toward a new phone even though it no longer has its own separate contract?

It's not really a problem... you could do the upgrades with the NE2 and then the next day you combine them together into a family plan after you get your new phones. However, once that second phone becomes a secondary line of a family plan, it will no longer qualify for NE2 in the future. It's not so bad though, you simply will pay the two year contract price, plus whatever rebates are available, the next time you want to upgrade that line.

Is this something the store will frown upon? I do feel since I have had the two separate lines for two years that I should take advantage of the NE2. I know that I will have to sign two contracts when I upgrade the two different phones. I guess I will have to sign a new contract the next day when I put the phones on a family plan right? Is this something I should tell the rep I am going to do or something I should just do without letting them know first? Or does it even matter?

Your price plan change will not extend your contract because it will already be extended by the equipment purchase. It doesn't matter if the rep, if you want to make it easy on you and him don't tell him go home play w/ your new phones then call cust service. Or purchase the phones 1st, then after the purchase tell him you want to change your price plan. If it's a competant rep, you should be able to just walk up to him and say, "I would like to purchase to new phones, each w/ the ne2 discount then change my price plan after that."

JDigital is correct, 1st upgrade equipment then change your price plan. The secondary (the one that costs $20) line will still be under contract; the reason that secondary lines don't qualify for new every two is because the secondary line's monthly rate is $20--it doesn't meet one of the requirements of having new every two (being on a $34.99 price plan or higher).
