new chocolate thread
i like a good discussion, but that one was getting a little long...
Ok, so I played with a Chocolate at work the other day, now i have one at home. I can't say I'm all that excited about it, but it is slowly growing on me. the touch sensative keypad takes some getting used to. the flash UI is a little slow, rock and roll isn't too bad, but jazz is pretty slow.
the red lights on the front are VERY bright and easy to see, but time out very quickly when the phone is closed. haven't found a way to change that yet. they stay on for awhile when the phone is open once you change the backlight settings. the number keypad is backlit very nicely. seeing in the dark is not an issue with the phone.

The phone definitely looks pimp...but the more I think about it I just don't think I can hang with the slider, and end button being on the side will be irritating... im a hopeless phone junkie so I will be buying it, but I just don't think I will enjoy it as much as my 8300. Will see I might be eating my words

I am so with Gunny on this one.. How do you carry this thing ?? It's going to get dropped alot.. No way to belt clip it and get it on and off fast ?

i played with the dummy phone we got today for about an hour. It look reallllly nice, but it is a fingerprint magnet!
Having the end button on the side is cool cause I wouldnt my face to hit to the phone panel and hangup.

i also have a working 8500. the thing about the fingerprint magnet is the most annoying thing EVAR!!!! i cant seem to keep the damn thing clean.

another thing i found was when you send a pix message containing music, it gives you the option to set as a ringtone which i thought was pretty cool.

one of the great things about chocolate I like is the ability to hide the music player and browse the Mobile Web or do text msging. The ability to multi task is just great. I wish my 9800 did that. Another thing is I hate when people say "oh its touch screen" no its touch button 😁 yeh I know its stupid.. but just bugs me!

Did anyone else notice on the chocolate testman site that one of the bundles included a 2gb MICRO card. You can't even buy those on the SanDisk site. I'm curious if those cards will actually be available since the chocolate launch date is next week.
Also, with the 31st web launch date I've heard that Verizon won't ship the phone to you until Aug. 7th which is the local store release date. Does anyone know if this is true?

Most likely the phone will launch in stores on Aug 7th. We did not recieve any in our inventory delivery on Friday. ☹️
