Hey guys

So we got samples of the Plantronics 655 and the 340 today.. I was so psyched to test these because of the great success I am having with the 320R and the 8300.

The Plant 320R is the only headset in existance that has zero feedback, good volume and works with the voice dialer.

I know alot of people think their Scala and Moto headsets work with the 8300 and yes I guess they kind of work but as far as voice quality to the caller and to the cell user. That is where it's bad. Every headset tested from Jabra and Cardo and Moto and Nokia etc. All cause some kind of intermittant Echo to the outside caller. This is unusable when you are doing 4000 Mins a month and using your phone for business. The 320R does a great job and does n...

Have you ever asked her to ask the people she is speaking too if they hear an echo?

I talk to her and she is on it...all the time. Once I introduced her to bluetooth, she always uses it. And she sounds crystal clear!

The bluetooth problem is the outside caller -

The Plantronics headsets until the latest version which we have already worked okay. The 510 and 320R do decently.. Not great but decent.

The 510 has the Volume issue where you can not make it loud enough to use in a car when driving..

The 320R does the best job but all in all the 8300 just simply has a Bluetooth problem.

Have people count 1-10 and say testing and ask them if they hear stuff back in the phone, you will see what I mean.

I used the Scala 500 today cycling in Kona, and
it doesn't have enough wind blocking to be useable. It doesn't have enough volume to overcome cars going by, either. Fine in the car.
I got home in So Cal and my Voyager 510 arrived and is charging.
Hopefully it will have enough volume while cycling with traffic. I'm using the Razr V3m.
We'll see! I have a cycling ride planned on Sunday.

I'm going to be riding on Maui tomorrow early am, and looking forward to it. I like the fact that the boom and earpiece can swivel a little bit 'inward' toward your cheek, and that should be even better.
I usually put the headset on my right ear as that blocks the car noise on the left better.
I used the earpiece that has the 'angled' nub on it, hoping it will stick in the ear better.
I may modify one of my custom molded earpieces and super glue it to the smallest extra piece, and that could give a very good sound seal.
The hard plastic 'foam' that they have on the boom is the same as they have one the mx-505 which works great riding at 20 mph.

I have read many of your posts, and those of others, about your BT evaluations. I tested several headsets myself with my 8100, but only two different sets with my 8300. I have had excellent luck using the Logitech Mobile Traveller with botht the 8100 and the 8300, although it is better with the 8300. I still have a Cardo Scala, which did not impress me at all with my 8100, works very well with my 8300, and worked well with both a 9800 and a Blackberry I tested it with.

I have come to the conclusion that the service within a particular geographic area has an impact on the BT connection. I know that logically this shouldn't make sense, but I believe the amount of interference, whether it's RF interference or whatever, has an impact on t...
